Principal's Letter
Aloha Hickam Families,
It was a joy to have you join us for our recent production of "Wonka Kids"! Our talented Hickam Elementary students, under the wonderful direction of Ms. Murray and Ms. Luckett, truly brought the story to life. A heartfelt mahalo to every single person who lent their time and effort to make the play such a resounding success.
As May begins, we have a month filled with important events and celebrations! Please mark your calendars for the upcoming state assessments for students in grades 3 through 6. To help your child(ren) perform their best, please ensure they get a good night's sleep and enjoy a nutritious breakfast each morning before school.
Also in May, we are excited to celebrate our incredible faculty and staff during Staff Appreciation Week, from May 5th to May 9th. If you have an opportunity, please take a moment to thank these dedicated individuals for their hard work and commitment to our students. They truly are the best!
Lastly, to our families who will be moving before the school year concludes, we extend our deepest gratitude for your exceptional partnership with Hickam Elementary and for the privilege of knowing your wonderful children. We wish you all the very best as you embark on your future endeavors.
Let's make this final stretch of the school year fantastic! Finish strong, Falcons!
Sincerely,
Patrick Wetzel

Vice Principal's Letter
Aloha Hickam Families,
As we approach the final stretch of the academic year, I am continually inspired by the commitment of our students, parents, and staff! In addition, we have many exciting events this month, including our Staff Appreciation Week (May 5-9), Digital Literacy Day, field days and promotion ceremonies, just to name a few. As we enter the month of May, I encourage each member of our community to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead and to finish the year strong. Let's continue to support one another, celebrate our achievements, and strive for excellence in all that we do! Keep up the great work, Falcons!
Kindly,
Ms. Jones
Vice Principal
Morning Drop Off
As we approach the final weeks of the school year, we kindly ask for your support in ensuring student safety during morning drop-off. For the well-being of all our students, we respectfully request that you do not drop off students before 7:40 a.m., as staff supervision is not available until that time.
The only exception to this is for students who will be purchasing school breakfast. Breakfast service begins at 7:10 a.m. and concludes promptly at 7:40 a.m. Students arriving before 7:40 a.m. who are not eating breakfast will be asked to wait in the cafeteria for supervision.
Your cooperation in ensuring students arrive no earlier than 7:40 a.m. would be greatly appreciated as we work together to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Purple Up Celebrations
We'd like to extend a big mahalo to our Military partners for helping to celebrate our students during the Month of the Military Child! Service members from the 15th Maintenance Squadron, 203rd Air Refueling Squadron, 154th Medical Group HI Air National Guard, Transient Personnel Unit, and the 15th Wing came out to cheer and welcome everyone during school drop off on Purple Up Day. What a great way to start the day!
Another heartfelt mahalo to the Hickam Officers' Spouses' Club for providing the funds to have Kona Ice of Mililani come out. All students and staff got to enjoy a purple shave ice for Purple Up!
