Central Linn School Board Moves Toward a May 2025 Bond Measure
The Central Linn School Board took a significant step forward in addressing the District’s future facility needs by adopting a resolution at its January Board Meeting to pursue a bond development resolution. This decision sets the stage for a crucial vote at the upcoming February Board Meeting, where the Board will consider a resolution to place a bond measure on the May 2025 ballot. The bond will address significant facility needs at the high school, with a focus also on elementary facility needs.
If approved, the District will move forward with plans to engage the community in the process. One key component of this effort will be the formation of a Bond Oversight Committee, which will play a vital role in ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of bond funds and overseeing the bond process. Voting community members will have the opportunity to apply for positions on this committee, with details on the application process to be shared at a later date.
The District encourages residents to stay informed and engaged as this process unfolds. More information will be provided in the coming months as the Board continues to discuss and finalize plans for the bond measure.

The PRIDE program rewards students for demonstrating Patience, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy. Leland’s dedication paid off, bringing laughter and excitement to the whole school. With cheers from classmates, Principal Sauter took the pie in good spirits, making the event a memorable reminder of the power of positive behavior. Congrats, Leland!
Self Managers Enjoy a Sunny Lunch in the Courtyard
This week, a group of outstanding 5th and 6th grade Self Managers had the opportunity to enjoy some sun while enjoying a special lunchtime privilege. These students, recognized for their leadership, responsibility, and positive behavior, were rewarded with an outdoor lunch in the Elementary School Courtyard.
With clear skies the students gathered outside, sharing smiles, conversation, and a well-deserved break from their daily routine. Moments like these not only foster a sense of accomplishment but also build a positive school culture where hard work and responsibility are recognized. Congratulations to all the Self Managers who earned this special experience! Keep up the great work!
Linn County Sheriff Sukle Visits Elementary Students for Lunch
This week, Sheriff Jenna Sukle made a special visit to the elementary school, joining K-4 grade students for lunch. The students were excited to share a meal and spend time with Sheriff Sukle, who took the opportunity to connect with them, answer questions, and talk about the important role law enforcement plays in the community.
Throughout lunch, students engaged in conversation, asking Sheriff Sukle about her job, and sharing their school experience as well. Her visit provided a wonderful opportunity to build positive relationships between young students and local law enforcement.
Events like these help students see law enforcement as friendly and supportive members of their community. Thank you, Sheriff Sukle, for taking the time to visit and make a meaningful impact on our students!
National Honor Society Volunteers at Safe Haven Humane Society
On Tuesday, January 28th, members of the National Honor Society (NHS) dedicated their time to giving back at Safe Haven Humane Society. The students worked together to repackage nearly 1,000 pounds of pet food for the organization’s community pet food pantry. This important program helps families in need keep their pets at home rather than surrendering them to the shelter.
After their hard work, students had the rewarding opportunity to socialize with some of the animals available for adoption. Spending time with the animals not only brought smiles to the students' faces but also provided much-needed enrichment and companionship for the pets awaiting their forever homes. Through their service, NHS members demonstrated the importance of community support, volunteerism, and compassion for both people and animals.
Thank you to these students for making a difference!
Zoology Students Put Their Spider Webs to the Test
Zoology students wrapped up their Arthropod unit with a creative and hands-on final project—designing and constructing spider webs! Using various types of string and yarn, students carefully wove their webs across the opening of a paper plate, simulating the intricate structures built by real spiders. Once their designs were complete, students put their webs to the test using a range of objects. They started with fake bugs, then moved on to croquet balls, and ultimately challenged their creations with a bowling ball to see how much weight their webs could withstand. This engaging experiment allowed students to explore the engineering, strength, and functionality of spider silk in a fun and interactive way.
The finished spider webs will remain on display in Mrs. Parker’s classroom until the Arthropod unit concludes in the second semester.
