Student Google Accounts for Summer 2021
Pre-K
Student accounts will be deactivated for the summer. This will happen on Thursday, May 27.
Kindergarten through 7th Graders
Student accounts will remain active, and students will have access to Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Classroom. Teachers can put an out-of-office reply on their email so that families know that teachers will not be responding to emails throughout the summer.
For students who are not involved in a summer program, we will turn off Google Meet and Google Calendar. Google Classroom classes will all be archived on Friday, May 28. Individual teachers may choose to restore their classes if they would like students to have access to them over the summer. Instructions for restoring Google Classroom classes will be sent to teachers in the last week of school. Any restored Classroom classes will be archived in early August before the 2021-22 classes are created.
8th Graders
On May 27, we will remove Chromebooks assigned to graduating 8th graders from the District 41 network and reset them, so that they can sign into them with regular gmail accounts.
At 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, the District 41 Technology Department will deactivate the Google accounts assigned to the graduating 8th graders. Starting June 10, these students will no longer have access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or any other Google applications using their D41 account logins.
Grammy Award Winning Record Producer Speaks To Hadley Orchestra Students
Mr. Ian Fitchuk has been an active session musician and producer. He has performed on albums for artists Shania Twain, Kesha, Brother's Osborne, Shawn Mendes and many others. In 2018 he co-produced Grammy award winner Kacey Musgraves' album Golden Hour which earned Best Country Album and Album Of The Year honors at the 2019 Grammy awards. Mr. Fitchuk would work again with Ms. Musgraves on Disney's "Frozen 2" soundtrack and he was also featured on ABC's American Idol this past weekend.
"What an honor to have such a talented, multi-instrumentalist, song-writer and Grammy Award-winning record producer speak to our Hadley Orchestra students. This type of experience can really bring opportunities in the field of music that will truly inspire our student musicians," stated orchestra director, Ms. Georgia Alemis.
Born and raised in Wheaton, Ian is the son of Mr. John Fitchuk, former elementary orchestra director of D41 and also the orchestra director at Wheaton Warrenville North and South High Schools for many years.
Thank you to Mr. Ian Fitchuk, Mr. Diveley, Mr. Guzzetti, Mr. Abbott and our Hadley PTA for sponsoring this opportunity for our Hadley Orchestra musicians.
