What Happens if I Don't Use All of our Allotment?
Your student's allotment is for their education for the current school year. It is OK to not spend it all. You can roll over up to $1000 for the next school year. If you do not return to Frontier or have more than $1000 left over, the money is put to good use!!!! Every year, families join Frontier after the fall enrollment funding deadline. These families still need curriculum to finish the school year. We use leftover funds to help them get the curriculum they need.
Thank you to everyone who budgets wisely!
Frontier Charter School Student Government Monthly Newsletter
MARCH
To the Frontier Charter School Student Body:
Hi there! My name is Tessa, and I am a high school Junior at Frontier. Right now, I’m serving as Junior Representative for Frontier’s student government. I wanted to take a moment and talk to you about student government, and to give you an update on what we did in March.
Student government is a new program being offered at Frontier this year. It is a place where you can become a leader and take on the responsibility of managing events, activities, policies, and programs at your school. All meetings are open to the public, and any high school students attending Frontier can become members!
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Last month, we were able to fundraise $3,500 for student government! We will be using these funds to go to the statewide student government conference in Utqiagvik in April! We also did a clothes drive for those in need in our community.
NEWS
In March, Frontier had its first NJHS/NHS meeting! We also supported some of our fellow schoolmates by attending the Mean Girls Musical with the Alaska Theater of Youth and sent some delegates to the Governor’s Annual Prayer Breakfast to check coats and serve the community.
I hope to see you all at some of our meetings this month, you’re always invited! We meet at the FCS office every Friday at 10am. Reach out to our advisor, Mrs. Kress, at kress_teresa@asdk12.org to join student government.
Sincerely,
Tessa Renner, Junior Representative
