1) People are inherently evil. If it was left to man then everyone would be dead.
2) Not everyone is equal, there are just lesser people on this earth.
3) A government is an establishment made to protect its citizens, and look out for their well-being.
4) As I earlier stated it is to protect the people from themselves.
5) Also as I earlier stated the government's sole purpose is to protect its citizens.

Adam Smith and the U.S. Economy
Adam Smith tackled the hardest thing that anyone on this earth will face, the economy. He leaned towards the idea of a hands-off approach by the government. He looked towards letting the market take care of itself. However the government has the duty, and responsibility to intervene if they knew something was wrong.
