Tyler Drive Scan Card Ridership

The Snohomish School District is introducing new transportation technology to its fleet to improve student safety. Our buses have been equipped with an automated vehicle location system and audio directions to guide the bus driver to each stop safely and efficiently.


As part of this system, Central students received their scan cards this week and Emerson students will be receiving their scan cards on Monday, which will act as their ID when riding the bus. The scan card will help to accelerate the process of checking students on and off each bus and ensuring the safety of every child. Please remind your student to keep their ID attached to their backpack.

Traversa Ride 360

Traversa Ride 360 provides secure, up-to-date access to student bus schedule/routing information and specifics. Traversa Ride 360 provides quick access to your child's bus schedule/routing information, which can include the bus stop, route, and bus number. This is accessible on mobile devices, and confidential and secure. This program can be accessed via the web or mobile app and is free to download and use. The user guide can be downloaded by clicking one of the links below:



Parents/guardians need to use their student ID# (include the initial 0 if there is one) and student date of birth to add their student to the app.

Conference Information

Our fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held October 25-27. Students will be released from Central Campus at 11:30 and Emerson Campus at 11:45. If you were able to attend our Open Houses on September 22, you probably already signed up for your child's conference. If you were unable to attend or have not signed up yet, you can sign up through Skyward Family Access until October 17. Please see directions below or the attached flyer for details on how to sign up for conferences. The schedule for the week is outlined below:

How to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher

  • Click on the Skyward Family Access link (do not use mobile version)
  • Sign in using your Login ID and password (call the office if you don't know these)
  • Click on the Conferences link
  • Click on All Conferences
  • Select the time slot that you want


Conference sign-ups will be available until October 17.

The Great Washington ShakeOut is a statewide opportunity to practice how to be safer during big earthquakes. Picture Days for 2022-23 School Year

  • Dorian Studios is our photographer. You can visit their website (https://www.dorianstudio.com/) for picture packet information. Pre-orders for pictures may be placed online and up to 4 days after picture day.
  • Central's picture day was today. You have until October 17 to order pictures online at https://www.dorianstudio.com.
  • Central's retake day will be held on November 30.
  • Emerson's retake day will be held on November 2. If you child is getting retakes, please send them with their original, complete picture packet. If your child was absent, your order can be placed online with Dorian Studios. Extra order forms are also available in the office.

Central Emerson PTA

Family Movie Night: Family Movie Night will be held on October 14 at 6 p.m. in the Emerson gym featuring the movie "Coco." See attached flyer for more information.

Tiger Spirit Wear: Tiger spirit wear order forms were sent home in Thursday folders today. Orders will be accepted until October 28. See order form below.

Art Camp: The PTA is happy to announce we have partnered with NW Art Wise and bringing art to Central Emerson students this year. The first camp provided will be during conference week for 3 days. You can do all 3 days or individual days. The cost is $35 a day with discounts for siblings. The fall Art Camp will be for Emerson students and the spring Art Camp will be for Central students. We are also working on a gift giving workshop at both schools for the holidays and a 4 week after school art class for Central. In addition, PTA will be offering scholarships for students. Art Wise will be at Emerson's Open House from 5-6 p.m. on September 22. We are happy to be able to offer more art to students! See flyer below for more details.

Annual Snohomish Great Pumpkin Race - 2022

  • Who: All elementary-aged children in the Snohomish School District
  • What: Children will run the following distances based on grade level:
    • Grades 1 & 2 - 800m
    • Grades 3 & 4 - 1200m
    • Grades 5 & 6 - 1600m
  • When: The race will be held on Wednesday, October 19. Times below are approximate.

    • 1st Grade – 4 p.m.
    • 2nd Grade – 4:20 p.m.
    • 3rd Grade – 4:40 p.m.
    • 4th Grade – 5 p.m.
    • 5th Grade – 5:20 p.m.
    • 6th Grade – 5:40 p.m.
  • Where: The races will be at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Snohomish High School.
  • Cost: Minimum of two cans of food to benefit the Snohomish Food Bank.
  • Registration: https://sites.google.com/view/pumpkin-race/home
  • Prizes: A "pumpkin trophy" will be awarded to the top three finishers, male and female, in each grade. All participants will get to keep their commemorative race number.
  • Sponsored by the Glacier Peak High School and Snohomish High School cross country teams. Special thanks to Bailey Family Farm for its support!

K-3 Highly Capable Program Information

If your student is currently in grades K-3 and you are interested in your student receiving highly capable services to include learning opportunities with more depth, complexity, and acceleration in the classroom please be aware of the following information. Students currently identified for highly capable K-3 services do not need to go through the K-3 referral process.


Referral packets for the K-3 highly capable program are available in all elementary schools, and on the Snohomish School District websites in English, Spanish and Russian. The completed referral packet is due Wednesday, October 19, and can be turned in at your home school or the Snohomish School District office (drop box located by the main entrance) located at 1601 Avenue D, Snohomish, WA 98290.
