PRIDE Under Construction - Week #29 🚧
Greetings, STEAM Family!
This week, I would like to begin by thanking all of our parents/guardians who were able to attend our APTT Meeting #3, along with the 3rd Nine Weeks Report Card distribution on Wednesday evening. We had a fantastic turnout, and each student who had representation for the meeting enjoyed “dressing down” on this past Friday, as well as earning 20 additional PBIS Rewards Points to redeem during our shopping days this week!
On another note, we’ve made it! This is the final week before our highly anticipated Field Day Celebration and Spring Break for our students and staff. Upon return from the break, we will be in the FINAL ROUND (4th 9 Weeks) of “Instruction Under Construction” at SDE as we have a laser-like focus on continuing to provide high quality instruction to ensure our scholars meet or exceed their individual learning goals for the year!
Our 3rd & 4th grade students and teachers have intensified their “Milestones Mindset” by participating in test preparation activities and reviewing all concepts that have been taught to prepare for the GA Milestones Assessment. Additionally, teachers are working diligently to ensure our 3rd & 4th graders maintain testing stamina while being in a timed environment. Parents, you can also assist your child in this area by ensuring he/she is reviewing material nightly, as well as practicing on standards-based electronic platforms such as IXL and Progress Learning! Upon return from the break, please be on the lookout for awesome incentive packages we will be offering to students in all grades who show outstanding overall achievement, as well as to those who demonstrate outstanding GROWTH on our end of year assessments!

WHO ARE WE???...
This Week at SDE:
ATTENDANCE MATTERS - Parents, please make sure your child maintains regular attendance and arrives to school in a timely manner. Students are tardy at 8:15 am. Five (5) tardies and/or early dismissals count as one (1) unexcused absence. Student attendance will be a part of criteria used to determine eligibility for school-wide celebrations. Remember, every minute really counts!
- Weekly grade level newsletters will be sent home each Monday, so please check your child's folder and/or book bag.
- The dress code will be enforced DAILY at SDE! Any "Dress Down" days will be communicated in advance. Repeated dress code violations will result in students becoming ineligible to participate in school-wide and/or classroom PRIDE celebrations and events! Please make sure your child adheres to the required dress code. Remember, the P in PRIDE stands for "Personal Responsibility".
- The PRIDE Afterschool Remediation/Enrichment Program takes place on Mondays - Wednesdays from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Snacks and transportation will be provided. For more information regarding the after school program waiting list, please contact the school at (478) 353-8250.
