Make your Mark

Hitting the mark....
Our book fair was a great success and we hope that you and your child enjoyed some time shopping together.
During November, our 3-5 will be taking some practice STAAR - this data is extremely valuable to our teachers to help them as they plan units for the remainder of the year. Whether you like STAAR or not, it is our tool of measurement for making sure we are teaching what the state says we need to, so we take them serious and hope you will encourage your child to try their best.
The Veteran's Day program is coming soon. We are doing things a bit different this year, trying to give all our students the opportunity to participate - we know the evenings get busy, so we hope the day program will be successful. Students will not be allowed to be checked out from the auditorium. All parents and families in attendance will be asked to stay seated while we dismiss our students and then we will dismiss you. We want to pack the auditorium with red, white and blue and watch our PK-2nd graders perform. In addition to honoring our country's veterans, we will also be checking off some required teaching components (TEKS) of a performance or being a good audience member. Our students have been working very hard to prepare for this, so we hope all our parents of PK-2nd will be able to join us! We will Facebook stream for those unable to attend.

Attendance/Early Outs
Please remember that daily attendance is a critical piece of academic success. All students should arrive on campus between 7:35 and 7:55. Students have no more than 3 days to bring a note back in the event of an absence for it to be counted as excused. Parents are limited to writing 3 notes per semester. Any consecutive absences of more than 3 days requires a doctor's note. Excessive absences can result in Saturday School assignment and/or court fines for truancy. Every 3 tardy or leaving early will result in an unexcused absence.
Students may not be picked up from school between 2:30 and dismissal on Monday - Thursday or after 1:30 on Friday. This begins a very active and moving campus, so we do not do pick-ups. Please arrive prior to then or wait until after school.
