MES Soaring to Success
Principal weekly update
Last week we successfully began our afterschool academies for grades 1-5 in both Math and ELA. Jazz band students also began to practice afterschool on Tuesdays. Some of you are inquiring about the drama performance of Annie. Tuesday practices will begin the week of Oct 21st. Mrs. Loiseau has also worked it out so that those participating in the TAG (Talented and Gifted) program can meet on Mondays as to not coincide with Annie. Thank you Mrs. Loiseau. I will be sending information home soon regarding the play times and practices.
This week our 5th grade students also began broadcasting the morning news to the students of MES. Mrs. Loiseau works with them the week before to develop their scripts and then records the production of the morning news. It is so exciting for everyone that we are able to do this!!! If your student is involved and you would like the link to watch their production let me know and I will be happy to send it to you.
In the upcoming weeks MES and WMS will be practicing an off site evacuation drill. Both schools will notify parents when the drill has been completed.
October is Hispanic Heritage Month as well and we will be celebrating in small ways through out the month. Tomorrow grades K-3 will enjoy lessons taught by students from NHS on Hispanic heritage. We look forward to that!
Remember that PTO is sponsoring a movie night this Friday. Please see the attached flyer for more information. There is also a Trunk or Treat flyer below.

As a reminder, please keep in mind sensibly size water bottles. The giant ones pose issues when spilled. We have water filling stations.
For gym and recess don't forget no flip flops.
