WCB students learned to be leaders by learning how to take care of ourselves by using positive affirmations and create positive affirmation bracelets to wear to help us remember!
For SEL Day at GNR, counselors set up a display in the cafeteria during lunches to engage students and encourage them to reflect on what SEL means to them. Students had the option to write about what SEL means to them and how they can practice it, or to create a GRACE card for a teacher or friend. At GNR, our GRACE core values are Good-hearted, Resilient, Authentic, Creative, and Encouraging.
EMK celebrated SEL Day on Monday. All students listened to Grace Byer’s “I Am Enough” in both English and Spanish. Students worked on a project related to the book and discussed ways that “They Are Enough”. Counselors also provided SEL-themed books for teachers to use with their students.
Perry L. Drew’s Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Day was held on Friday, February 28! This year’s theme, "Around the World in a Day: Where Cultures Meet and Emotions Grow," guided students through engaging, hands-on activities that explore SEL Competencies.
Our school safety team and counselors collaborated to plan this special event, ensuring that it involved our entire school community and provided an equitable SEL experience for all students. Families were invited to attend from 9:00–10:30 AM to participate in the activities, but SEL day was a whole day event at PLD this year!
WCB students had a great time reading with their new 5th grade friends from GNR!
March 3rd GNR students kicked off Read Across America in the coziest way possible! Dressed in their comfy clothes and pajamas, students gathered in the hallways with their teachers to participate in Drop Everything and Read. This special moment encouraged everyone to pause, grab a book, and enjoy the magic of reading together. It was a wonderful way to build a love for literacy and set the tone for an exciting week of reading celebrations! Keep turning those pages, Bulldogs!
Author and Grace N. Rogers Alum, Will Appiah, returned to GNR during Read Across America Week to read excerpts from his book series, Peter and the Prince to 4th grade students. Mr. Appiah shared his storywriting process, held a Q&A session, and donated several signed copies of his books to the GNR Library and 4th grade classroom libraries. This was a truly magical moment for our students and school as we celebrate and recognize the power and impact reading and literacy has on our students.
Superintendent Daniels and Assistant Superintendent Felicetta visited Ethel McKnight Elementary School to celebrate the joy of reading with students!
Thank you to the Princeton Symphony Orchestra who performed for PLD's third grade students!
Congratulations to HHS wrestlers Chris Cropanese and Keyra Huastitlan Reyes for qualifying for the NJSIAA State Tournament! They competed at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City this Thursday!
Sunday's matinee will be an ASL performance with one of our HHS students signing the performance.
We are excited to announce our participation in the NJSTRIDE 2025 Virtual Job Fair!
