NEWS FROM THE OFFICE
Water Day
Our classrooms having been working all year towards a classroom reading goal. The classes are keeping track of how many minutes are being read at home. If the class meets the goal, the class will be invited to Water Day. Students who do not complete at home reading will NOT be included in the class invite because they haven't contributed to the goal. Parents of students who are not on track to participate have been notified throughout the school year. Water Day will take place on Wednesday, May 21. For those who qualify to participate, please bring a change of dry clothes on that day. Students without a dry set of clothes to change into will not participate. This is shine event only which means it will not be rescheduled if weather doesn't cooperate.
We are looking for parent volunteers to help run the Water Day stations on Wednesday, May 21. If you are an approved volunteer, please consider signing up. The link below will allow you to sign up. Sign ups will close on Wednesday, May 14 at noon . SCE will be in touch with volunteers with additional information by Friday, May 16 . Visitors will not be able to attend Water Day. Only those who volunteer will attend. Volunteers can't bring younger siblings while volunteering.
MAP Testing for 3rd-5th Grade
We will begin MAP Testing on Monday, May 5. It will conclude on Friday, May 9 for students who attend every day. Make up testing will occur the week of May 12. Our testing begins at 8:45 for 3rd and 4th grade daily. Our testing for 5th grade begins at 9:45 daily. If a student arrives after the start time, he/she will not be able to join the testing once it is started.
Classroom teachers can give you the exact dates and times if you know your child may be out or late. We appreciate you doing everything you can to have your child here each day and on time.
Dress Code Reminders
Stone Creek Follows the Wentzville School Districts Dress Code. Please read pages 14 and 15 of the handbook below for a dress code refresher.
We also ask that students do not wear flip flops. They present a safety concern for students. Thank you.
Hall of Frames
Is Your Family Photo in the Hallway Gallery of SCE Families Yet?
Over the summer, we add to our collage of framed photographs in our hallway. It looks amazing and our SCE Family will love being able to look up at these as they walk through the hallway. If you did not hand yours in you may still do so, but know they will not be hung up immediately. This takes a team of teachers and other volunteers to do this. If you hand a frame in now, it will go up but be patient. Any frames handed in prior to July 11 will be included in the frames we target to hang up for August. Frames received after July 11 will be stored and hung up at a later date. Each family may contribute only one 5x7 frame.
What type of frames are we looking for?
Must be 5x7
Photo can be vertical or horizontal
Black Frame
Frames will be screwed into wall. Please see the frame type we are looking for below. These frames hold up to being screwed into the wall. Not having the right frame may delay frame being hung.

Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to Nick Melton for being Stone Creek's March Volunteer of the Month! Nick will receive preferential parking in our Volunteer of the Month parking spot and a Fast Pass for the month of May. Together, our volunteers took 13 HOURS of work off of our teacher's plates for the month of April so they could spend more time with their families. We're up to an astonishing 242 hours given back to teachers for the school year! Thanks again to ALL of our volunteers for filling in the missing piece to our puzzle, we appreciate you!
If you are interested in volunteering, just ask in the front office. We would love more help!
