We are so excited to welcome students back to school in just about two weeks. We've been working hard this summer to prepare our buildings and classrooms for student arrival. We have a lot of information we want to make sure you know before the year starts to have the best school year yet, so please make sure you read to the end of this newsletter in order to be prepared.

Most families who have completed their student's registration for this school year will now be able to access transportation information in Infinite Campus.

Outplaced students, Early Education Center students and families who have not completed their registration will not yet be able to see their transportation information. Current transportation information may also change as routing is finalized to include these families.

Please continue to verify your transportation information in Infinite Campus up to Aug. 14, as routes may change if students are added.

We wanted to remind you of changes to this upcoming year's academic calendars.

We are reducing the E-Learning days we use to provide training to our staff at the secondary level from nine to four. Preschool students will also have their E-Learning days reduced from nine to four. We are making this change to increase direct in-person learning for our students.

However, we will continue to have monthly E-Learning days at the elementary level due to the introduction of major curriculum adoptions for grades K-5. The rollout of these new curriculums will require ongoing training sessions for our teachers at the K-5 level.

Please take a look at the calendar to make sure you are able to make any necessary plans around the scheduled E-Learning days. We have three separate calendars this year to accommodate the changes in E-Learning days.

We have a new Strategic Plan! Our new Strategic Plan was created during five after-school sessions over a few months in the winter of the 2023-2024 school year. We assembled a group of 39 people made up of members of our school board, administration team, union executive leadership, staff, students, parents and community members.

At the heart of this process was our mission: To inspire and empower students to construct a thriving future. We achieve this mission by upholding our core values and beliefs. That:

• Decisions are made in the best interests of learners, in a financially responsible manner
• We cultivate trusting relationships built on effective communication and collaboration
• Engagement with families and community is valued and promoted
• Diversity is a valued asset that enriches the entire community
• High quality learning experiences meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of all
