College and Career Preparation
8th Grade Families: Welcome to SchooLinks!
SchooLinks is a college and career preparation platform that is a โone-stop-shopโ for all of your studentโs future planning needs!
Last week, Mrs. Gaffke guided students through the process of establishing a personal profile and facilitated exploration of all the useful features offered. SchooLinks includes a huge database for college and career searching, as well as personality and skills inventories that help match careers to studentsโ individual traits, interests, and abilities. As students transition to high school, they will access Schoolinks to schedule next yearโs courses, create a four-year course plan that fulfills graduation requirements, and ultimately utilize it in the college application process. Feel free to explore SchooLinks with your student at home anytime by visiting https://app.schoolinks.com/login/k12 and logging in using their school email and password.
Star Staff of the Month ๐
Each month, FMS staff members nominate a colleague who has gone above and beyond their job expectations. At the end of the month, those with the most nominations receive recognition.
The following staff members have been recognized for the Star Staff of the Month award;
September:
Hannah Grant- technology teacher
Katie Shamblin- Principal's Secretary
October:
Dominic Arcaro- 7th grade Science Teacher
Taylor Gosseck - Arrt Teacher
Amber Michael- Paraprofessional
These staff members have certainly made their mark. They have all stepped up in some capacity to elevate the culture at FMS. Each one is a valuable member of the FMS team, without them, our school would not thrive the way that it does.

Attention Sixth Grade Parents
This letter is to inform you of the immunization requirements for (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis), as a booster to the initial series of required doses. Ohio is requiring the Tdap vaccine, as opposed to Td, to protect against Pertussis (whooping cough). In addition to the Tdap, your child is also required to receive the Meningococcal vaccine prior to the entry into Grade 7. The Meningococcal vaccine prevents bacteria that is commonly spread from person to person, especially in teens and young adults. These bacteria can cause meningitis, which is an infection of the fluid and lining surrounding the brain and spinal cord; it can also enter the bloodstream, causing sepsis. Please contact your health care provider to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccines your child will need for the next year. For a complete list of immunization requirements for school-age children in the State of Ohio, please go to: www.odh.ohio.gov/odhPrograms/dis/Immunization/imunchsc.aspx REQUIRED 7th Grade shots (2 shots): ยท Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) ยท Meningococcal vaccine
