Summer School Instructions
Dear D103 Summer School Families,
District 103 Summer School at Daniel Wright Junior High School will begin on Monday, June 10, 2024, and continue through Wednesday, July 3, 2024 (no classes on June 19). Classes meet Monday through Friday each week. This email contains important details to be aware of and tasks to complete before the first day of summer school.
SUMMER SCHOOL SCHEDULE
Enrichment and ESY Summer School students: Please print your child’s summer school schedule from PowerSchool. Some classes have new room numbers and your child must have the most up-to-date schedule.
Directions to print schedule(s):
Log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
It may be easier to view and print schedules on a desktop computer.
Overview of class schedules and room assignments.
- Extended School Year (ESY) and Guided students at Sprague & DW: Teachers will email families their student's schedule and classroom room number.
Send a copy of your child’s schedule with them to summer school. (Multiple copies kept in a backpack are a good idea as well.)
ARRIVAL
Arrive No EARLIER than 8:20 a.m. There is no outside supervision until 8:20 a.m. Students will not be permitted to enter the building before 8:20 a.m.
Morning student drop off will occur in front of Daniel Wright’s Main Entrance (Door A).
Please pull all the way up in line. Moving as far forward as possible prevents cars from backing up on Riverwoods Road and causing a safety concern.

Parents must stay in their vehicles.
Staff will greet children upon arrival and will assist them in getting to their assigned classes.
For the safety and security of our students, parents and guardians will NOT be allowed beyond the front office.

Families picking their children up are expected to follow the traffic flow as indicated on the map at all times.
Parents should NOT park in the parking lot at any time.
Please display a paper sign in your vehicle's window with your student(s) first and last name and grade level (last grade completed).
CARPOOLING is highly recommended.
TRANSPORTATION
For those students using district transportation, bus routes are posted in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

For summer transportation questions, contact Kara Mishler by email at kmishler@d103.org or call 847-295-8258.
Consider downloading the MyView App to track your child’s bus route for the summer as well as the school year. When you log into PowerSchool, please note your child's bus number. After checking your child's summer transportation information, open the MyView app on your phone and search for the summer school bus number.
Students should arrive at their stop five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive.
