Can you believe that school starts this week?! I hope you enjoyed your summer with your family and friends. I enjoyed a family trip to San Diego and a trip to Colorado with Mrs. Wendt to continue our learning this summer. While I loved every minute, this building sure isn't the same without our students here. The buzz and excitement of student learning is one of my favorite parts of being in education.

We would like to offer a big welcome to our newest little Gators in kindergarten and their families! I will be sending our Smore newsletter every other week with an update on all the fun things happening, PTA events, and important reminders. Be sure to check each newsletter to stay up to date.

Our mission at states that "As a Groves community of learners, we empower one another to overcome challenges, achieve excellence and influence the world in a positive way.". We strive to ensure our students, families and staff all live this mission each day. We are GROVES GREATNESS!

I cannot wait to see you all on the first day of school on August 8th! Please know that we are here to support your child on their journey to success.

We loved seeing so many families at the popsicle playdates last week; next up is Meet the teacher! This is a great time to come up to school, tour the classroom, meet your teachers and drop off school supplies. We will be here from 4-6 pm!

We have the most amazing PTA in the state of Texas! They support our Gators of all ages, students and staff. We would love to have you sign up as a PTA member and sign up to volunteer whenever you are able!

Please complete registration as soon as possible. Each year, Online Student Registration must be completed for every student enrolled in Wylie ISD.

It will take some time to become familiar with our arrival and dismissal procedures. We have over 700 students and most of our students walk home or ride home with a parent. Please know that the car line will be crazy long for the first few weeks of school until everyone gets to know their dismissal number.

Please take a look at the map below to clarify traffic patterns and dismissal exits.

Please note that if your student is a walker, you cannot come up to the building to get them, that would be considered a parent walk up and will use a different exit.

If your child is in a car seat/booster seat and cannot unbuckle/buckle themselves yet, we ask that you pull into the parking lot to park and walk them to the front door in the morning and assign the student to be "parent walkup" at dismissal.

Please remember that we have a Birthday Treat Policy with WISD. It is best for you to send nonfood items in the treat bags in order to keep from having to remove items.
