Faculty Reading Challenge

I challenged the faculty to read 25 books from several book award lists. The challenge starts now and ends when school begins next year. This challenge will expose them to book awards, middle grade books and help them recommend titles to our students.

Fifty eight 6th graders qualified for a free ticket to Six Flags for reading at least six hours.

Homerooms with no overdue books or unpaid fines received scratch off tickets to win books, bookmarks, and St. Patrick's Day necklaces.

Students had their picture made holding a book with a strong female character to celebrate Women's History Month in March.

World Read Aloud Day

Top Titles at Palmetto

The top titles are Divergent, The Selection, Tsubasa, Wimpy Kid, Guinness World Records 2013, Catching Fire, Naruto, Eleventh Grade Burns, F in Exams, Hunger Games and The Lightning Thief.
