Tiger Choir Chronicles
Travis Tiger Choir Weekly Updates
September 9 - September 13
Happy Sunday!
Go Tigers!
News for Everyone
What did we do last week?
This past week we started fitting all students into formal uniforms. Many items will need to be sent out for alterations. Once alterations are complete, uniforms will be sent home for students who have paid the Choir Fee. We send our dresses out to a seamstress to be altered, but I typically do all the tuxedo pants myself to save on cost. If you are comfortable with a needle and thread to do a simple hem on a few pairs of pants, please let me know as I would appreciate any help!
Chorale also performed the National Anthem at this week's home football game and proudly represented the Tiger Choir!
Lastly, students auditioning for the District Round of All-State Auditions had their mock audition and I am so proud of they work they have all put in! Each student received individual feedback on how to continue practicing for a strong, and confident audition this coming weekend.
Parent Help Needed for District Auditions
On Saturday, September 14, we are hosting the first round of this year's All-State Auditions. We will have students auditioning from all Fort Bend High Schools and well as students from LCISD High Schools totalling over 500 students. As a result, we will need LOTS of hands to help make this large event a success. We will have a morning and afternoon shift for parents in hopes that it provides schedule flexibility. If you are able and willing to help out and support our awesome choir students, please click the button below to view available jobs for adult helpers. Thank you to those who have signed up so far!
If you are unavailable or unable to volunteer, but would still like to help, we are currently accepting donations of the following items to sell at our concession stand:
- Cases of water
- Cases of soda
- Individually wrapped bags of chips
It truly takes a village to support our incredible students and I am SO appreciative of any help or assistance parents can give to the Tiger Choir Program!

Join our Choir Booster Club!
Our Choir Parent Booster Club operates to help support and assist the choir program in many ways! We have regular meetings to help plan events, discuss volunteer needs, and discuss financial needs of the choir program. You can be as involved as you would like to be! To encourage membership, the board has waived all membership fees this year in hopes that you will join us and find out ways you can support your child in their musical journey as a member of the Travis Tiger Choir!
THANK YOU to our generous Tiger Choir sponsors!
Thank you to everyone who has been purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist to help "clear the list!" If you are able to browse our list and help purchase an item, we would be SO grateful for your support!

Voice Lessons
This year we are thrilled to add another private voice teacher to our staff and extend a warm welcome to Mr. Antoine Griggs. Mr. Griggs is an accomplished performer who regularly sings with various organizations in Houston, including the Houston Ebony Opera Guild and Houston Grand Opera! He came to campus a couple weeks ago to meet the students and began lessons last week. He still has a few spots open. If your child is interested, or if you have any specific questions please feel free to reach out to him at antoinegriggs@gmail.com. We are very fortunate in Fort Bend that lessons are taught during student's choir class time so no additional rehearsal time is necessary and I hope that many students will take advantage of this awesome opportunity!
