I hope everyone had a fantastic winter break! I am so happy to be back and working with the kids again. Starting next week Mrs. Tierney, Mrs. Wells and myself will be working with students in grade 1-3 and splitting them into reading groups. My focus within my groups is working on Fundations and the Wit and Wisdom reading program. Fundations is a Wilson based reading program that uses an evidence-based approach to instruct students on decoding, encoding and handwriting. My group will focus students who need extra support in basic reading skills at a pace they are comfortable with. In the Wit and Wisdom reading program the students and I will be diving into the 5 senses. We will be reading books, doing hand on activities as well as critical thinking and handwriting. I am so excited to get started working with the kiddos.
