Pre-ACT for 10th and 11th Grade
Thomas Worthington Counseling department will be hosting the Pre-ACT (Practice ACT) for 10th and 11th grade students. The cost is $19. The Pre-ACT empowers students with a unique ACT test practice experience. Scores provide valuable insights into students' predicted performance on the ACT. Pre-ACT reporting includes academic and career indicators, which are designed to identify strengths and areas of improvements, while providing a complete view of the students college and career readiness.
WHO: 10th and 11th grade students
WHEN: The Pre-ACT will be administered during a regular school day schedule on Wednesday, November 13th. Students will miss regular classroom instructional time and will be responsible for making up work.
WHERE: The Pre-ACT will be administered in the main gym at Thomas Worthington High School. Linworth Alternative and Worthington Academy students who wish to participate will take the test at TWHS.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: November 6, 2024 at 3:20pm. Seating is limited, so please sign up early!
To register, students need to click HERE and fill out this form and also pay through MyPaymentsplus.
*Please also note that this is a practice test and accommodations will not be offered during this test.
School Pictures and Student ID
School pictures and pictures for student IDs were taken by HR Imaging during Orientation Days. Every student must have a picture taken to receive a digital Student ID, which will be used to check into the office when arriving after the school day begins. Student IDs also are required to enter all home athletic events for free.
HR Imaging will be photographing student portraits on one last date at TWHS:
- Friday, October 11th - picture RETAKES (or makeups) will take place inside by the front entrance of the building from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Student Work Permits
Work permits are now conveniently processed at Thomas Worthington High School to make it easier for families to access and complete the necessary paperwork. Please see Mrs. Forman or Mrs. Burkholder in room A136 to submit your paperwork.
FULL SCALE EVACUATION SAFETY DRILL OCTOBER 16th
The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community are always our top priorities in Worthington Schools.
Historically, our schools have participated in several important safety drills:
Fire Drills: These drills teach students and staff how to report fire hazards and safely evacuate the building using multiple exits.
Weather Drills: These drills help everyone stay calm and safe during weather-related events, such as tornadoes, by identifying and using sheltered spaces within the building.
Lock-Down Drills: These drills prepare us for situations where free movement within the school is restricted due to external disturbances or unauthorized visitors. They involve securing the school perimeter, classrooms, and common areas to keep everyone safe.
Rally-Point Drills: These drills focus on safely exiting the building in cases of emergencies like a gas leak or unsafe visitor, and moving to a predetermined safe space away from the school.
In addition to these drills, Ohio law requires public schools to conduct a "Full Scale" Safety Drill every three years. This comprehensive drill combines elements of the previously practiced drills and includes a controlled classroom lockdown, as well as a simulated evacuation to move students away from the building in the event of danger.
Our staff has been trained in the ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) emergency response model, which includes additional countermeasures during a lockdown to facilitate a safe evacuation to a Rally Point. In the event of an emergency requiring relocation, students would be transported to a designated "reunification" location, with the Worthington Education Center (WEC) being our primary consideration.
We will have more information to share as we get closer to our drill date.

March 11, 2025
Worthington Schools will register all juniors for the state-funded Digital SAT. This will be administered during the school day on March 11, 2025. Students have the opportunity to prepare for the assessment at any time using the resources below. If you have any questions, please contact your school counselor.
Digital SAT Practice and Preparation
Bluebook™ practice test: This is the best and most accurate way to ensure you're measuring your knowledge of the skills on the actual test. It's also a valuable introduction to the Bluebook testing app, which you'll use both for practice tests and on test day. Plus, when you practice in Bluebook, your practice scores will be available in My Practice, where you'll find helpful information about your performance on different content areas so you can target your practice more effectively.
Khan Academy®: For a skill check outside of Bluebook, students can take Khan Academy's SAT Course Challenge for both the Reading and Writing Test and the Math Test. These challenges will give you a snapshot of your performance on different content areas, which you can use to decide what you want to study.
