Mini Night 2024
Thanks to the many families who attend the 5th grade and 6th grade mini nights! Please take a few minutes to share your feedback on the event with this survey.
Online Safety Information: Thanks to all of our 6th grade families who attended the digital safety presentation last night. Here is the recording of the presentation, and here is the slideshow, which has links for you to review as well. Your oversight of your child's digital citizenship is super important.
West Bend Homecoming 2024
Homecoming Week begins on October 7th, culminating with the Homecoming parade and football game on Friday, 10/11. Please review these slides for information on the field layout for the football game and the student expectations.
American Sign Language
Did you know that American Sign Language (ASL) is the fourth most commonly used language in the United States? Did you know that some people who have hearing loss are part of a Deaf Community that has its own culture, art, and language? This month, the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) team is excited to share some basic signs and Deaf Culture information with Silverbrook students. Throughout the month of October, look for ASL posters in the hallway and an ASL sign and DHH fact of the day with your house announcements!
Supervisory Aides Wanted
Are you or any of your friends looking for a part-time position that allows you to sleep in and get home early? We have the job for you! Silverbrook is looking for supervisory aides that assist with lunch and recess. Doesn't this sound fun and interesting? Take a look at WECAN (you can keyword search Silverbrook and filter Assistant/Aide and apply. Not only do you get to spend your time with children, you will work with outstanding Silverbrook staff and receive a sporty blaze yellow safety vest to wear while at work. We look forward to working with you!
Silverbrook Super Read-a-Thon
Silverbrook hosts one fundraiser each year. This year is our Super Read-a-Thon. What do you have to do? Encourage your children to read!
For our Silverbrook Super Read-a-Thon this year, we're using an awesome web based fundraising system that makes it much easier for you to request pledges from your family and friends, and for them to make secure credit card donations online. It's fun, it's easy, and people who use it typically raise twice as much as those who don't!
Remember, our Silverbrook Super Read-a-Thon is November 1st-15th, 2024, so please register now to help our school raise as much as we can for Family Fun Nights, School Celebrations, Mini Grants for Classrooms & Classroom Furniture.

Lesson: Time to Reflect
Summary: In this week’s lesson, your child will learn how to reflect on their experience working toward a goal.
Try This at Home: Ask your child to tell you about their goal-setting journey, including what worked, what didn’t work, and what they could do next time. Tell your child about a goal that you set and worked toward. What worked, what didn’t work, and what did you learn?
