We are excited to invite you to the Merrill Spring Fling, an event to meet our incoming 6th grade families. If your student is confirmed to have been accepted to attend Merrill for the 2024-2025 school year, we can't wait to see you on May 9th from 5:30-7:30pm! The event is like an open house, so please arrive when it works for your family and stay as long at you would like. We have Spanish, Pashto, Dari and Arabic speaking staff members who can help with any translation needed.
We welcome you to tour the building, meet staff, select classes for next year and to pick up some Merrill swag! Arrival time does not impact students course selection.
Elective and Enrichment classes are available to choose preferences on. Please see below for details and links to preview.
Electives- Merrill students have two periods dedicated to elective classes. Our elective classes are either one semester long, such as Art, Stem, GT, etc... or year long classes such as Spanish, Orchestra, etc... Your student could end up taking four semester long classes, two semester long classes and one year-long class, or two year long electives. It depends on what they are interested in. Enrichment- Merrill's Enrichment classes are part of our school day and occur during 11th period. They provide an opportunity for students to engaged in learning that sparks curiosity or a chance to try something new. Most Enrichment classes are 9 weeks long (Black Student Alliance and Student Council run for an entire semester). Students will take up to 4 enrichments throughout the year.
