Oak Hills Newsletter
Week of April 29, 2024
Message from the Principal
Dear Oak Hills Families,
We look forward to connecting with you this week. Teachers have been preparing the past few weeks for conferences. If you need support with scheduling conferences, please reach out to your child's teacher or call the front office to speak with Dawn Marie or Marcy. If you are unable to make a meeting in person, please let your teacher know you need a zoom meeting. With limited time left of the school year, we hope you all can attend the conferences to learn about your child's progress and hear about the goals for the remainder of the year.
Reminder:
School is in session on Wednesday. No school on Thursday, 5/2 or Friday, 5/3. The office will be open on Friday 8am-3pm.
This week, we recognize all our staff for their love, care, talents, and dedication to serving our students and families. We appreciate all the treats, gifts, and messages from all of you this week. We never expect the goodies but am so grateful for our community's generosity and thoughtfulness.
May will be a month filled with learning and fun! Please check out Ms. Larsen's Library News below. May is Get Caught Reading Month! We kick it off with the book fair this week! Many more planned activities throughout the month including field trips!
Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Ms. Do
Updates on Outdoor Reader Boards!
Great news! Our district will be installing the new reader board in the front of our school mid-May. It was slated for this summer, but it will be done before then.
Thank you to our families! Your donations to the Jog-A-Thon funded an outdoor bulletin board! It has been installed in the back of the school. Location: Brick wall next to the dumpster area and across from the portables. So many families walk to the back of the school for drop-off and pick-up; PTO proposed this project. The district approved it and set up the contractor. We will begin placing flyers with school events/clubs/reminders soon! The reader boards are an additional way to communicate to students and families--we are excited about the installments!
Oak Hills Spring Parent Teacher Conferences (REPEAT)

Absences and dismissal changes can be reported to us via the Oak Hills website. There are buttons where you can click and report an absence or changes to how your child will be going home.
For dismissal, please do your best to report the changes before 1:00pm since this is when we will be delivering the information to our teachers and students. If it is after 1pm, please call the main office to report the change and not the website button.
Thank you in advance for utilizing this communication tool. It will free up our phone lines for families, staff, and community members who urgently need to get in touch with the office.
