Principal's Message
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Congratulations to our volleyball teams on their outstanding performance at the GYAC Tournament on Thursday! All teams demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, effort, and teamwork. Their hard work paid off with the Boys Team earning silver, the Girls A Team securing bronze, and the Girls C Team also bringing home bronze! What an incredible achievement for everyone involved. A heartfelt thank-you to our dedicated coaches, Mrs. DeLeeuw and Mrs. Kennedy, for their time and commitment throughout the tournament and season. Thank you to Rebecca Tymchuk for helping at all of the girls practices throughout the season!
On October 25, during our professional development day, staff reviewed key student data, including early learning screens, HLAT Writing Assessments, PAT scores, and assurance surveys. This important process helps teachers evaluate where students are excelling and identify areas for growth. Using this information, we set school goals and develop strategies to enhance classroom practices, ensuring that every student has the tools they need for academic success.
A reminder that our next school council meeting is on Monday, November 18, at 3:30 PM. We encourage parents to join us to stay informed about school updates and upcoming events. Topics will include the Council of School Councils meeting, updates to the SCIP, holiday events like Christmas activities, and basketball season preparations. We look forward to seeing you there!
With colder temperatures comes an increased chance of colds, flu, and, occasionally, lice. Please take time to regularly check your children for lice as a precaution.
Thank you to Peers Farm and Feed for sponsoring our hot lunch this week! Next week is another free hot lunch, corn dogs, sponsored by Tymchuk Farms!
Lastly, there’s still time to participate in our Fa La La La Fundraiser! This is a wonderful way to get into the festive spirit and support NCS. Order forms are due by November 25, so don’t miss out!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Bailey Benson

Reading Volunteers
Throughout the week, our school is fortunate to host wonderful volunteers from the community who dedicate their time to reading with our students in K/1 and 4/5. Their support fosters a love for reading, builds confidence, and creates meaningful connections between students and our community. We are very appreciative of our volunteers helping our students build their knowledge and love of reading!
VR Goggles
The K/1 students had an incredible experience using VR goggles to explore the majestic Rocky Mountains, the bustling cityscape of Toronto, and the enchanting Northern Lights. Through the Digital Lending Library, the school borrowed the goggles, opening up a world of immersive learning for the young explorers. Other classes will have an opportunity to use them over the next week.
