I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I wanted to get an email out to everyone to point out some important dates and activities that are going on between now and the start of the school year. Below you will find information about school supplies, kindergarten assessments, unpack your backpack night, and much more. As the school year approaches, please reach out if you have any questions.

Our office will open on Monday, August 5th. Mrs. Dingbaum, our school secretary, will be here and available for anything families need before school starts.

Lastly, if you haven't registered for school yet, please do so! More information is below on how to get that taken care of.

Registration is open - and fees may be paid for the 2024-2025 school year!

If you have an Infinite Campus account, please follow the steps below to complete the registration process:

1. Follow this link to log in to Infinite Campus Parent Portal
2. Select "More" at the bottom of the dark menu on the left
3. Select "Online Registration" at the bottom of the menu
4. Note: there are two sections on this page: Existing Student Registration & New Student Registration - be sure to click “Start” in the correct section
5. Click the "Start" button next to "24-25 Existing Student Registration"

If you do not have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account, please follow this link to create an account and register your student(s).

Here the link to our school supply list for the upcoming year. For those that ordered Supply Boxes from the PTO, those will be placed on student’s desk prior to Unpack Your Backpack Night.

On Thursday, August 15th, our kindergarten teachers will be hosting a "Kick Off Day" for incoming kindergarten students. Our teachers will do assessments with students to get baseline information on where students are coming into kindergarten. Our office secretary and I will be available that day to answer any questions that parents may have about the upcoming school year. We also use this as an opportunity for students to come into the school and walk the halls to get a better feel for the building. We hope that it will make the first day of kindergarten go smoother for students as well.

Here is the link to the times that we selected back in May during our Kindergarten Orientation Day. If you need to change times or need to be added to the document, please let me know. We will send out Kindergarten class lists on Monday, August 19th.

You are welcome to drop off the required health records at your convenience, or you can bring them to Unpack Your Backpack on August 22! They are linked below if you need additional copies.

Kindergarten Health Forms (These were distributed at Kindergarten Orientation Day)

North Scott Child Care still has openings for the 24-25 School Year. We have before & after school at Alan Shepard, Virgil Grissom & Ed White. At Virgil Grissom we provide care for 3 yr olds & 4 yr olds before & after preschool. For more information please call Theresa Tobin at 563-285-9710 or theresa.tobin@north-scott.k12.ia.us. On Thursday, August 22nd we will have our annual unpack your backpack night at Alan Shepard. This event will go from 4:00-5:30. This is a great night to come and tour the school, meet your new teacher, and drop off some supplies before the first day of school.

Classroom placements for 1st-6th graders we be posted on Infinite Campus on Monday, August 12th. Families can log into Infinite Campus to see who their child's classroom teacher will be. Kindergarten class lists will be shared following kindergarten assessment day.

This handbook provides district-level information consistent between all elementary schools. It outlines several school and district policies and procedures.

The 2023-2024 school calendar has been approved and posted on the district website.

• First Day of School: Friday, Aug. 23
• Winter Break: Monday, Dec. 23 - Friday, Jan. 3
• Spring Break: Monday, March 17 - Friday, March 21
• Last Day of School: Tuesday, June 4
