Welcome to Mr. Jackson's World of Positive Culture & Climate!
Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) recognizes the importance of having a positive school climate and culture. Therefore, our schools have a Dean of Culture and Climate! We believe that this role adds value to our schools!
Our Dean of Culture and Climate works closely with the Building Principal, Assisstant Principal, School Leadership Team, and Counselor to implement a PBIS plan for positive climate and culture. Mr. Jackson, Davis' Dean of Culture and Climate is a busy bee! Along with the Principal, Mr. Jackson establishes an integrated systems of intervention (known by all school staff) that promote health development and prevents problems, and responds to problems as early as feasible. He also plans all Spirit Weeks and parent outreach opportunities at Davis.
Mr. Jackson also develops partnerships with the community through enhanced communication and outreach and increases use of volunteers at our school.
Mr. Jackson provides and coordinates professional development for teachers on best practices related to positive Climate and Culture within schools and he works collaboratively with the Principal to analyze all suspension, discipline and attendance data monthly, documenting specific trends and recommendations for improvement
Addtionally, Mr. Jackson works with school staff in leading the effective implementation and continuous improvement of a school wide program designed to improve climate and culture at Davis.
The next time you see Mr. Jackson, please give him a big wave and let him know how it's going at Davis!
