Message from the Principal
Good morning Athena Families,
November often invites reflection and gratitude. We also know that practicing gratitude offers improvements in both the quantity and quality of our lives. At Athena High School, it never ceases to amaze me how students, staff and families find ways to offer appreciation and kindness to others. Between now and 11/22, the Athena Cares Club will be collecting food donations to assist with Thanksgiving basket deliveries to support Athena Families during the upcoming holiday season. If your family is interested in contributing, here is a list of items being collected. Donations can be brought to the Athena High School Main Office through November 22nd.
cream of mushroom soup
jar/can turkey gravy
instant mashed potatoes
graham cracker pie crustcan of french style green beans
instant stuffing mix
cornbread mix
15 oz canned pumpkinfrench fried onions
cornbread mix
vegetable oil
14 oz sweetened condensed milk
Lastly, I had the pleasure of hearing from some Athena High School parents last week at our Parent Exchange. We received feedback that some parents are eager to become more involved and are not sure how to go about it. We LOVE that our parents are interested in partnering more deeply. If you are looking for ways to get more involved, here are a couple of points of contact to get started: (1) Cora Mack - Athena High School Parent Coordinator - cora.mack@greececsd.org, and (2) Deanne Sullivan - Athena PTSA President - deanne.sullivan@greececsd.org
Or, if you have a specific idea in mind, you can reach out to me directly: kelly.flagler@greececsd.org
Have a great week!
Kelly Flagler, Principal

Linked is an information sheet that includes a school-by-school list of proposed “Upkeep” projects.
We encourage all registered voters to mark their calendars and make time to vote on December 10! Polls will be open at the district’s Transportation and Support Services Facility, located at 1790 Latta Road, from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. Visit the district website for more information.
