Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)
What is MAP?
You may be familiar with paper and pencil tests where all students are asked the same questions and spend a fixed amount of time taking the test. Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP® ), created by Northwest Evaluation Association™ (NWEA™), is different. MAP is a computer adaptive test, which means every student gets a unique set of test questions based on responses to previous questions. As the student answers correctly, questions get harder. If the student answers incorrectly, the questions get easier. By the end of the test, most students will answer about half the questions correctly.

Great Lakes Cyber Academy Fall Testing Window
Our testing window opens on Monday September 12th and closes on Thursday October 13th. During this window we are tasked with testing 100% of our 6th-11th grade students in Mathematics and Reading. It has been determined that test sessions will be organized by student's homeroom teacher. The maximum number of students being proctored by an individual HR teacher in any given testing session will be limited to 15. The reason for this is to allow sufficient time for the test proctors to complete one synchronous authentication with 100% of the students and an additional synchronous authentication with at least 50% of the students being tested during their assessment. We will be using Live Lesson rooms in order to accomplish this requirement. This is the reason you were asked to find out which students do not have webcams.
Destination PD
The online learning portal for NWEA is Destination PD. Recently you received an email inviting you to the Destination PD site. This site has a lot of valuable information we will be using. When it asks you to choose your role, choose PROCTOR. You have access to all the modules in the Learning Library, but by choosing proctor it will set up your My Learning section. Complete the proctor module in order to become more comfortable with the role you will play as part of the GLCA NWEA MAP Team.
MAP Site
You should also have received an email with information on how to access the NWEA MAP site. Your username is your GLCA email address and a temporary password can be found in the informational email from NWEA. This is the site you will use to run the testing sessions you are assigned. We are going to set the test sessions up for everyone, so all you will have to do is initiate the testing session at the appropriate time and monitor student progress on the assessment dashboard. You will have the ability to pause, suspend, and restart student tests from here.
