After School Sports & Clubs
Daniel Wright offers students the opportunity to participate in sports and clubs after school. The activities are open to all Daniel Wright students. Prior to trying out for any sport or prior to the start of any practice season, students must have a physical on file. Make sure you have a permission to participate form on file with the club sponsor or coach otherwise you will not be able to participate.
Athletics

- Boys Basketball is about to get underway for Grades 7-8. Tryouts begin Monday, October 24. Learn more about the team from the basketball flyer.
Clubs and Activities
Chess is for students to learn the game of chess and compete against other students. The first 30 students registered on the RevTrak Web Store, which will open at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, will be invited into the club. The first chess club meeting is after school on Thursday, November 10.
Free to Be is a support and social group open to all students.
Math Team explores a variety of math problems and participates in competitions. Registration opened at 7 a.m. Friday, October 7. Registration on the RevTrak Web Store is limited to the first 30 students for the sixth-grade Math Team and the first 60 students for 7/8 Math Team.
Scholastic Bowl is an academic buzzer competition similar to Jeopardy but with teams testing their knowledge in literature, science, math, and more. Tryouts are November 29 and December 1.
Science Fair students independently develop a scientific question to explore and design an experiment or design and build a new device. Please read the Science Fair flyer for more information. Science Fair kicks off with an after school meeting on Tuesday, October 18.
Student Council provides opportunities for students to demonstrate their talents, skills, and interests while continuing to develop leadership skills. It is open to all DW students.
Yearbook participants edit, design and create the student yearbook. The club is open to all DW students.
Wright Way members organize local and global fundraisers. The club is open to seventh- and eighth-graders.
