Prom May 18th from 7-10PM at the Broadway Pier
We are now just days away from the DNHS 2024 Prom, “Head in the Clouds”! The junior class presidents have worked tirelessly planning this event! The doors for the dance will open at 7:00 PM and the dance will end at 10:00 PM. Students will not be allowed in after 8:30 PM unless prior arrangements have been made. If students leave early, they are not permitted back into the dance. We are all very excited, as we anticipate a memorable evening. Drinks, desserts, and activities are included in the price of the ticket. If your student is attending this dance, please review the following with them, as it contains information critical to ensure all students have a safe and enjoyable evening.
Required ID:
Please remember that all students will need to show their Student ID to enter the dance. Please have this ready in line to make for a speedy check in. This can be the physical or electronic student ID. To access the electronic ID, login to the StudentVue app, click on ID Card (linked as an option at the bottom of the screen), swipe right to get to the barcode. Students do not need to bring their ticket; this is a keepsake.
Behavioral Expectations:
As this is a Del Norte event, all PUSD rules of student discipline will be in effect. This goes for all students as well as their guests. One area that we would like to highlight is controlled substances and/or altered states. Upon entry to the dance, students will be randomly screened by a breathalyzer and bags/wallets will be searched.
Dress Code:
We would like to remind all families that DNHS seeks to maintain a community where high personal standards are reflected in our dress on campus and at all school functions. We thank you in advance for your diligence in helping to maintain these high standards. Additionally, to protect the safety of our students, shoes must be worn at all times and closed toe shoes must be worn on the dance floor. For those students who have concerns with the comfort of their shoes, we strongly recommend bringing an alternate pair of shoes to change into.
Transportation/Parking:
The event will be held at the Broadway Pier. The address is 1000 N. Harbor Dr. San Diego, 92132. Please make an effort to know how your student will be getting to and from prom. Vehicles may drive onto Broadway Pier and drop off students at the Port Pavilion front doors. Nearby parking includes:
USS Midway Museum Parking Lot (ACE Parking) – Located at 960
N. Harbor Drive: $10-$20 (up to 12 hrs.). Enter parking lot off of N.
Harbor Dr. on right. For evening parking, pay at pay stations.
B Street Pier Parking Lot (ABM Parking) – Open for public
parking when cruise ships are not in Port. Rates vary.
Spring Hill Suites & InterContinental Hotel (ACE Parking) –

for current hourly and daily rates.
Limited Metered Parking – There is very limited metered parking
along N. Harbor Drive & Pacific Highway. Rates start at $2.50/hour.
ACE Parking Lot – corner of Broadway and Pacific Highway.
Public Parking only on Fridays (starting at 5 PM) and weekends
and holidays. Rates vary, see pay station for rates.
Wyndham Bayfront Hotel – corner of N. Harbor Dr. and Ash
St., Check with ACE for current hourly and daily rates.
Guests:
As with all DNHS dances, guests will be held to the same high standards as our Del Norte students. Guests must enter the dance with their date and bring a form of ID.
Dancing:
At all school dances we expect a level of decorum and appropriateness. Students will be asked to leave the event if they are found dancing inappropriately or in a manner that may lead to injury. While our staff and hired security take measures to prevent this from occurring, we ask that you discuss this expectation with your student prior to the dance.
After the Dance:
The safety of our students is paramount. While Del Norte does its best to ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for students attending our prom, after dance activities are not school sponsored.
Again, it is our aim to ensure that the DNHS Prom 2024 is safe, enjoyable, and memorable for all students. It is your support and partnership that will help make this an event our students will remember for years to come.
