Principal's Message
As we step into Semester 2, I want to take a moment to recognize the hard work of our students and staff during exam week. It was great to see everyone focused and committed to their learning, and I appreciate the effort that went into making the week a success.
Now, with exams behind us, we look ahead to a fresh start. A new semester brings new courses, new challenges, and new opportunities to grow. Whether you're continuing in subjects you enjoy or exploring something different, this is an exciting time to dive into learning with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Our teachers and staff are ready to support you, and we look forward to seeing the energy and engagement you bring to the months ahead. Let’s make this semester one filled with discovery, collaboration, and positive experiences!

Pink Shirt Day
Pink Shirt Day is on Wednesday, February 26th. Just like tending to a garden, together we can each help nurture a sense of belonging where we live, work, and go to school. It all starts with small gestures— a kind word, an offer of support or understanding. If we plant enough, pretty soon, more will be sprouting up all around us! By sprinkling these seeds of empathy and compassion, we can work towards a world without bullying and "Let Kindness Grow" through all of our community gardens.

School Reach 🚨
Calling all trivia-lovers! Reach teams represent their schools in a fast-paced quiz challenge testing both their knowledge and speed of recall. Teams consist of four players, but can have additional susbstitute players. Players score points by buzzing in to answer questions (similar to Jeopardy).
We practice Thursdays at lunch in room 188. The regionals tournament will be held Saturday, March 15th at Ponoka Secondary Campus. We are still accepting any interested players who want to compete!
Student Recognition
Tory D. and Quaid V. were our Shout Out draw winners for the month of January. Students and staff can nominate students for a shout out to recognize them for doing something positive within our school. All students who receive shout outs are named at assembly and then entered into a monthly draw for prizes. This month's prize was an IRSC water bottle and a $20 McDonald's gift card, sponsored by Blackfalds McDonald's.
If you would like to sponsor a shout out prize, please let us know!
Donations Needed For Senior High Drama Department! 🎭
Our Sr. High Drama students are bringing stories to life on stage, and we need your help to keep the magic going! We’re looking for donations of gently used costumes, jackets, hats, footwear, and accessories—anything that could add character to our productions.
Do you have old Halloween costumes, vintage clothing, or unique pieces gathering dust in a closet? Give them a second life in our drama studio! Every donation helps our students explore creativity and bring their performances to the next level.
Donations can be dropped off at the front desk at IRSC. Thank you for supporting the arts in our school!
