Mission
The mission of George Bannerman Dealey is to provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society.
The Better Side
Greetings Dealey Community!
Hate has 4 letters; so does Love. Enemies has 7 letters; so does Friends. Lying has 5 letters; so does Truth. Negative has 8; so does Positive. Under has 5; so does above. Cry has 3 letters; so does Joy. Anger has 5 letters; so does Happy. Right has 5 letters; so does wrong. Hurt has 4 letters; so does Heal. It means life is like a double-edged sword, so transform every negative side into an aura of positivity. We should choose the better side of the life. –Unknown
We are moving right along! Thank you all for your continued commitment to our campus.
As we close out magnet applications, we have even more to celebrate! I am so pleased to announce we have about 100 additional applications than last school year! I am also proud to announce that of the total , we have over 200 more eligible applicants than last school year.
This is proof that we are truly "Breathing Fires of Excellence" here at Dealey.
Our excellence is also exemplified in our commitment to climate and culture on this campus. This week our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) focus is on choosing the better side. We are determined to have students that make the right choices everyday. As a community, we have put in additional measures to ensure that every member of our community feels valued and safe. The Dignity Center is open and serving as a place for restoration and renewal of good character. Every morning I tell the students "Good character is when no one is watching" Let us all continue to live and model this for our Dealey Dragons.
Thank you for your support!
Let’s make this a week on the better side!

Winter Weather Advisory
Time spent outdoors is an important part of the school day. However, freezing temperatures, chilling winds and precipitation can create health problems and make it unsafe for students to be outdoors.
Principals have the discretion to cancel or limit outdoor activities if they deem a situation is unsafe.
Dealey will follow the following guidelines during this season.
Outside temperatures or wind chill is less than 32° - Outside activity is discouraged.
Outside temperatures or wind chill above 32° - Most students can tolerate outdoor activities if they are dressed appropriately.
Students may respond in different ways in cold weather due to underlying health conditions or other factors. Staff will watch for students who become uncomfortable during outdoor activities. Consult the campus nurse for individual student concerns. The campus will communicate any campus closures due to inclement weather using the SMORE and School Messenger (text and call).
Tips on how to dress for cold weather include but are not limited to:
Dress in layers
Cover exposed skin with gloves or hats.
Outerwear should be tightly woven, water resistant and hooded, if possible.
