Welcome Back Morris Families!

Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday break filled with joy and relaxation. The Morris staff and I are excited to welcome your children back to school as we begin the second half of the year. We’ve missed their energy and enthusiasm and can’t wait to dive back into learning and growing together.

Arriving On Time Matters

As a friendly reminder, the school day begins promptly at 8:40 a.m. Students who arrive after 8:45 a.m. are considered tardy. Starting the day on time ensures your child doesn’t miss valuable learning opportunities, morning routines, and important announcements. Arriving on time also sets a positive tone for the day, helping students feel prepared and ready to learn. Please help us make every minute of learning count by ensuring your child arrives at school before 8:40 a.m.

If you have any challenges with morning routines or transportation, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support your family in making punctuality a habit.

ROAR Expectations Refresher

On Thursday and Friday, our staff will be reviewing Morris Elementary’s ROAR expectations with all students. This includes:

• Rise to the challenge
• Own your actions
• Always work together
• Respectful yourself and others

Returning from a break is the perfect opportunity to revisit these expectations and remind students of the positive behaviors that make Morris such a wonderful place to learn and grow. By reviewing these shared values, we reinforce consistency and ensure every student feels supported and knows what is expected of them.

We encourage families to talk about the ROAR expectations at home and how they can be practiced not just in school, but in everyday life. Together, we can continue building a school culture that fosters respect, responsibility, and readiness to learn.
