Welcome to Week Five!

Students and Families,


It is hard to believe that we are already ending our first month of the school year and entering October. This week students will be receiving two important items. On Monday they will be receiving their student IDs and on Friday students will be receiving their first progress report. Please read on for important information about each of these items.


There are two days left to nominate a staff member for Parkside's staff member of the month. Use the form below to recognize a staff member who has helped make the start of the school year a great one for your child.

Student ID Cards

All students are receiving their students ID cards on Monday. Student IDs play a significant role in the safety and security of our students. Students must have their School ID on them while on school property at all times. Manchester School District student identification cards (IDs) serve many purposes:

  • School Bus Transportation: Beginning October 15, 2024 - ID cards will be required for all students riding the MSD buses; this does not include those on special transit at this time.

  • Food Services

  • Student Events & Activities

  • Library Services


Replacement Procedures:

  • Students who alter the original picture and design of their ID must replace the ID.

  • Students needing a replacement card will go to the Library Media Center (Elementary) and Main Office (Middle/High) to request a replacement ID card. Replacement cards will be available by 9 am the following school day or earlier if available.

  • First card replacement is free. Subsequent cards are charged at $3.00 per issue. These fees shall be tracked and deposited into the school account.

  • Social Workers/Guidance Counselors can work with students to provide access to an additional replacement, if they meet the criteria for economically disadvantaged students as defined by the guidelines set forth by the state of New Hampshire and complete a restorative process to show how they will be more responsible with the replacement card.

  • Students who purposely defaced their IDs will not be eligible for a free replacement card.

Progress Reports

Students will be receiving their first quarter progress reports on Friday October 4. Progress reports provide students and families with an update on a students achievement and citizenship in class. Grades are constantly changing and we recommend families monitor Aspen for updates on their child's performance in each of their classes. You will also notice that your child will receive a citizenship rating for each of their classes in the comments section. We have included the rubric below used for students to reflect on their pride, respect and responsibility in each of their classes.

ECF Devices

This is a reminder that it is important for all students with an ECF chromebook to bring their device to school daily and charge it every night at home. Many classrooms utilize chromebooks for instructional purposes and the number of school chromebooks we have is not enough to provide a duplicate chromebook during the day for students with ECFs already. If you have any questions about ECF devices please contact your child's teacher.
