BWMS Family Update
11/1/24
Remember to Fall Back this Weekend!
BWMS Families,
Can you believe that this weekend we will fall back? With the benefit of an extra hour of sleep comes earlier darkness each day. We are hopeful that the extra sleep will help our kids with continued attention and engagement in class as well as energy for some extra events below.
First, the Scholastic Book Fair will take place during lunch and advisory next week every day but Tuesday. Take a look at the promo below and encourage your student to find that next book to dig into as the season gets colder. Next, our first Eagles Night is Friday from 6PM-8PM. Cost is $5 at the door and this event is sponsored by our Student Council and will feature a number of fun activities. In addition, check out below how you can help with our district-wide food drive as BWMS is responsible for stuffing mix.
One final note, our Veterans Day Breakfast is coming up on Friday, November 15th. We would love to have all of our local heroes registered using this link by Monday. Thank you for helping us honor or Veterans.
Have a great weekend,
~Mr. Josh Frame

Camp Nuhop staff will be leading these days, in conjunction with BWMS teachers, at Camp Nuhop facilities during two scheduled dates in April this spring. This trip will allow your student to experience outdoor education tailored to supplement the sixth-grade content standards. Activities will address the core subject areas and related arts areas. Over the two days, students will participate in a variety of outdoor activities to enhance their learning. On the assigned days, students will depart from BWMS around 9AM and return by 6PM. The trip total will be $130 total for 2 extended days and paid either online via PaySchools Central, cash, or check to Big Walnut Schools. Additional details will be shared next week via email to include your student's assigned days, how to register and payment information.
Thank you for your interest and support in the 6th grade field trip for outdoor education. We look forward to making some great memories with our 6th graders! Reach out to us if you have any questions.

District-Wide Food Drive
BWLS is proud to partner with Delaware County this year in the "Hunger Games" initiative. The initiative aims to ensure our local Delaware County families can access a free Thanksgiving meal.
Each building in the district will be responsible for collecting items to contribute to the Thanksgiving Meal Kits. BWMS will be responsible for collecting stuffing mix with the goal of collecting 200 boxes. In return, we can help provide a limited quantity of Thanksgiving kits to BW families in need. Collection bins will be in the office by the end of the week. The food drive will take place from November 4th to November 15th.
A special thank you to BWHS Principal Nicole Carter, BWHS counseling office, Megan Truax, and Deputy Snyder for making this happen in our district.
