Weekly Warrior for Families
February 23, 2024
FYI
If you are interested in additional information on any of the below items, please reach out to Robin Kerkhoff, 378-2406 or rkerkhoff@k12k.com
FREE rides on KATS (our local public transit service) during the month of February. This is a great time to learn the routes.
Our community has an outreach that offers FREE haircuts at a local church. These are typically offered every other Monday (next scheduled date is Mon. 3/4). They begin at 9am and finish after their last haircut. If transportation is an issue, we can assist by utilizing the school van.
Food bags are offered every other week. If there is a need and your child is not bringing these home, please call the office or contact Robin Kerkhoff to get on the distribution list.
If your child is in need of gently used clothing, please let them know to visit Mrs. Kerkhoff in the office. She can assist in gathering items for them. Also, KCS has a Family Resource Center (FRC) that will assist families with a variety of needs.
Clothes closet needs: At this time we are mostly in need of male clothing (sweatpants, joggers, socks, tennis shoes). You can drop these items off at the office.
Dental visit
Dental Hygienists will be here beginning Monday to see students and add dental sealants. Students will called during Related Arts to go to the small gym area to see the dental hygienists.
Save the Date for Spring Pictures
Spring Picture Day is March 14. It is "prepay" only for students interested in having their picture made.

Yearbook
David Flanary here, adviser of Sevier Middle School’s journalism program. I wanted to reach out to you with some information about the 2023-2024 yearbook.
This time, we are partnering with Jostens to produce a 100-page, full-color, hardback yearbook to celebrate the memories students will make. Yearbooks will cost $30.00; customizing the yearbook with a student's name will cost an additional $8.00.
Every year, we have a large number of students who miss the opportunity to purchase a yearbook because they simply forget to place a pre-order. Ordering early is the best way to secure a copy of the yearbook.
If you’d like to secure your copy of the yearbook, please click here to purchase online.
If you have any questions about this year’s Sevier yearbook, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at dflanary@k12k.com

Cell phones may be confiscated if this rule is violated. When confiscated from students, parents will be asked to retrieve the cell phone from the school administration.

2nd offense - When a student has a second offense during the current semester, the item will be confiscated for a minimum of ten (10) school days. A parent or guardian must retrieve the confiscated item from the front office.
