Attendance
Whole School Attendance this week - 95%
A huge WELL DONE to 3LM for 100% attendance AGAIN this week!! ⭐⭐⭐
We are aiming for at least 97% - let's work together to make this happen!!
Please remember that if your child is going to be absent from school you should call school before 8.30am to report this. If they are off for multiple days, you should call school each day that they are off. If your child is suffering from something such as a cough or cold we do recommend that you send them into school and see how they get on. It is amazing how many children perk up once they get into school and we can assure you that if it becomes evident that a child should not be in school we will make contact with yourself as parent/carer.
As a school, our attendance has greatly improved over the last year and this is all thanks to you and the effort you are making in getting your children into school every day.
Weekly Reflection
Our word of the week is 'SHINING LIGHT' and children have used worship time to reflect on how Candlemas is a time to think about how we can be shining lights in our world.
Candlemas primarily focuses on Jesus’ early life. Many Christians believe that Jesus’ mother Mary presented him to God at the Temple in Jerusalem after observing the traditional 40-day period of purification (of mothers) following his birth. According to a New Testament gospel, a Jewish man named Simeon held the baby in his arms and said that he would be a light for the Gentiles (Luke 2:32).
It is for this reason that this event is called Candlemas. Congregations hold lighted candles to recall the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, and Mary’s following Jewish tradition after the birth of a son. His recognition by the aged Simeon is expressed in the words of the Nunc Dimittis.
Christians light candles at Candlemas to help them remember Simeon's words about Jesus. Christians describe Jesus as 'the light of the world'. They try to follow the example of Jesus and live their lives as lights shining in the world.
What does it mean to shine like a candle in our world?

Safeguarding
Share these tips with your child to make sure they get to and from school without any problems.
Walk together
Younger children should always walk with an adult. Tell your parents that walking is great exercise and a nice way to spend time together. If your parents say that you can walk to school on your own, remember these tips:
• Walk with a friend when possible.
• Ask your parents to help you pick a safe route to school; one that avoids dangers.
• Stick to the route you picked with your parents. Don’t let friends talk you into shortcuts that are more dangerous.
• When you are near the street, don’t push, shove, or chase each other.
• Never hitchhike or take rides from people not arranged by your parents.
• Talk to your parents and teacher about any bullying that may happen during your walk.
Be seen
Remember, drivers may not be able to see you well. Always wear bright-coloured clothes and if it is dark or hard to see, carry flashlights or wear reflective gear.
Look for traffic
Watch out for cars and trucks at every driveway and intersection on your walk to school. Look for drivers in parked cars. They may be getting ready to move.
Cross the street safely
1. Stop at the curb or edge of the street.
2. Look left, right, left and behind you and in front of you for traffic.
3. Wait until no traffic is coming and begin crossing.
4. Keep looking for traffic until you have finished crossing.
5. Walk, don’t run across the street. Obey traffic signs, signals and adult school crossing guards
