Where Learning is Personal

From the Principal
As we move into the seventh week of school, it’s great to see the progress our students are making both inside and outside the classroom. At the board meeting on September 26, I shared how our teachers are beginning to transition into more in-depth learning experiences now that routines are well established. With this foundation in place, teachers are starting to use data to guide their instruction, ensuring that each lesson meets the needs of our students.
Our sports teams continue to put in their best effort, demonstrating perseverance and teamwork. It’s encouraging to see their growth, both as athletes and individuals. Thank you to Coach Doell and Coach Hobbs for guiding our student-athletes this season and the families supporting them along the way.
Being on Time is Critical
We need students entering the building at 8:15 AM and no later than 8:20 AM. Please help your child start each day strong by ensuring they arrive at school on time, as this sets a positive tone for their learning. Consistent routines make a big difference, and your support is greatly appreciated!

Middle School Stories
Each month, the Middle School team selects two students who we feel have exemplified what it means to be a student here at Winfield Central School. Students are recognized at the monthly School Board Meeting. Congrats to our Students of the Month for the month of September, Tadeo Lemus and Brooklyn Vihnanek!
Student Leader Team Update
In our most recent Student Leadership Team meeting, we discussed the plans for ‘Walk to School Day’ on October 2nd, putting our heads together to get all the details right to make it the best we can. Everyone who walks to school will receive a free sticker and have their participation counted for their class. The class with the most students participating will receive a popsicle party! The team is also very excited to make new experiences and friends in our school by teaming up as reading buddies with students in Mrs. Broderick's class. Finally, we also discussed ideas for the upcoming spirit weeks and holidays.
