Hello Trix Families,
Q2 Progress Reports are now available and you may have questions regarding your scholar’s grades. Grades are based on your child’s mastery of grade-level material and if your scholar has not scored proficient on standardized tests, they may have low scores.
Your child’s teacher frequently reviews specific data to help build important skills. We incorporate small group instruction for all students in both English and Math that is tailored to your child’s needs. We also use the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) plan to help scholars that need additional help. Families will be notified if scholars have been selected for MTSS.
There are several things you can also do to support your child at home:
Ensure a consistent bedtime so scholars get enough rest
Come to school every day. Scholar absences contribute greatly to scholar performance.
Makeup work helps with reviewing skills but is not a substitute for in class instruction of new information.
Encourage reading and math activities at home. Scholars need additional exposure to practice these important skills.
Scholars have online IXL and Zearn accounts for extra practice. Sign in to LiveSchool and view your scholar’s behavior reports.
We love partnering with you to help your children grow and thrive. Please reach out to your child’s teacher for more information.
Student Resources - Go through the tools and do practice questions with students
MAP Introduction Video (This is a GREAT resource for scholars and teachers

School Safety
School safety is a critical factor that has a significant impact on the school climate and culture. A safe school environment not only promotes physical well-being but also fosters a sense of security and trust among students, teachers, and staff.
When students feel safe, both physically and emotionally, they are more likely to focus on their academic work. A safe school environment reduces anxiety and fear, allowing students to engage more effectively in learning activities. This fosters a positive school climate where students are comfortable expressing themselves, asking questions, and participating in discussions.
When students feel safe and secure, there are typically fewer incidents of violence, bullying, name calling, teasing and disruptive behavior. The absence of fear and aggression creates a conducive atmosphere for learning, where students are more likely to follow rules and engage in respectful behavior.
Parents/Guardians, please make sure you have conversations with your children about school safety and how it impacts the climate and culture of the school. Please promote kindness and respect towards everyone.

Urgent: Update Your Contact Information
Dear Parents,
It’s crucial that we have your most current contact information on file, especially in case of emergencies. If you’ve recently changed your address or phone number, please inform the school as soon as possible.
We encourage you to provide an additional emergency contact number as well. Your child’s safety is our top priority, and having updated information ensures we can reach you when needed.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
School IDs
Dear Parents,
This week, school IDs will be issued to all students in grades 5 through 8. It is mandatory for scholars to have their ID visible and on their person when entering each class. Lanyards and clips will also be provided to ensure that students can easily wear and display their IDs throughout the day.
Please note, there will be a $5 charge for the ID. If your child loses their ID, there will be a replacement fee.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping ensure a smooth and organized process for our students.
