Welcome to World History 10th grade

Hey! My name is Ms. Roman and welcome to World History 10th grade! This will be my first year teaching and I am so excited to meet you all. I graduated from the University of Houston as a History Major and a minor in Education so one thing is for sure I love history and teaching is my passion! I love to read books mainly mystery, fiction and fantasy. I crochet and love to take pictures on my days off.

In this classroom you will feel safe. You will be able to voice your opinions without judgement. In the journey of making new discoveries, you will also learn skills of a historian. While we go on a trip through the past present and future, you will acquire skills and build connections that will help you in your day to day life. We believe in respect. A special thing about our classroom will be the environment. Everyone will be treated with respect and everyone is welcome! We will build an empire (like the one's we will learn about) where everyone gets along! You have the power to make a change!

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel left out? Maybe you seem to learn things different than your classmates? It will be my job as a teacher to incorporate every style of learning that will work best for you. I believe that every student has potential! I will get you there! My role as your teacher is to help you build connections and make discoveries. With your peers you will share your discoveries through discussions and presentations. This class will be a lot of teamwork and communication . At the end you will become a critical thinker and historian.

In chronological order we will learn the history of the world. We will learn about the significant people in history who made an impact and left their mark. Students will examine the turning points of events and analyze the causes and effects of many empires and civilizations that fell. We will also analyze religions and philosophies and how those have developed over time.
