A Note from Mrs. Cornett
Thank you to our Eagle staff members who chaperoned our annual Halloweeen Dance, our parent volunteers who decorated for the event, and Ms. Garza who made the night a reality. We could not have provided this fun evening for our Eagles without your support. It was an incredible night of music (I never knew the kids still love to sing the Wheels on the Bus), activities, food, dancing, friendships, and of course our Thriller Flash Mob. The kids went non-stop so I imagine they were exhausted the rest of the weekend.
Somehow we are headed into the last week of October. In true VMS fashion, we have a great Red Ribbon Week in store for our Eagles along with our book fair. Don’t forget to dress up this week to show your support for being drug free. Most importantly, we will hold grade level meetings this week (Oct 28th – 6th grade, Oct 30th – 7th grade, Oct 31st – 8th grade) with important guidance on drugs and campus safety. Be sure to ask your students what they learned in these presentations about the dangers of fentanyl so you can continue these important conversations at home. To accommodate this important message, we have adjusted our bell schedule on these days. Please note the change in lunch and advisory times on Oct 28th, 30th and 31st:
- 11:40-12:10 7TH GRADE LUNCH
- 12:20-12:50 8TH GRADE LUNCH
- 1:00-1:30 6TH GRADE LUNCH
- 1:35-2:25 ADVISORY

See Something Say Something!
School safety is very important, and it's up to all of us to work together as a team to prevent bad things from happening.
If we all stay alert and work as a team to report dangerous or suspicious activity, we can help keep our schools safe.
