During state assessment time, all students will remain either in their 3rd hour class or state assessement location during all of 3rd hour and WIN time. There will not be a bell and students will not be allowed to leave the location until they are dismissed for lunch on the bell. All high schools students will be dismissed for lunch at 11:13 on the first bell and junior high students at 11:15 on the second bell. Students need to use the restroom, get a drink, and make sure they have a library book before heading to 3rd hour. State Assessment Information
- Testing will take place during 3rd hour & WIN Time to allow for additional test time. See schedule below.
- An announcement will be made to notify students as to which testing location they go to if they are scheduled to test that day. It will also be posted by the office window.
- Bells will be turned off during the time of testing to limit interruptions.
- Absolutely no announcements can be/will be made during the state assessment testing window.
- Teachers will plan not to have intense instruction/homework during testing time as students may be missing class for state testing and we want that to be the emphasis and not have them worrying about missing instruction and assignments.
- It is crucial that all students are set up for success as much as possible during this time. Ex: Be present at school, eat breakfast, charge chromebook, go to bed early the night before, etc.
- State testing is required by the state of Kansas. All students are required by law to complete. If a student is absent from school, they will make up the test during week 3. It is crucial that all students are present during their normally scheduled testing time and come prepared to try their best!
- Non testing students:
- Remain in classrooms, limit hallway movement and noise in the classroom. Read a book during WIN time.
- Testing Students:
- Snacks/drinks will be provided to students
- Come prepared with a charged chromebook
- Plan for testing students to be absent from assigned class hour for testing
- Headphones will be provided to students to limit distractions.
- We are working to continue to place a larger emphasis on state assessments this year and our desire to have our students do well on these tests. Please help us in informing students of the importance of doing their best on these tests.
