From Principal Skomial:
Happy Summer!
It seems like I blinked and we were at the last day of school. Our last few weeks featured Someone Special Day, Field Day, TREPS Marketplace at TJ, Preschool Family Fun Day, a Home Run Ball Tournament, the Kindergarten Celebration, a 3rd Grade Clap Out, and many class parties. We made sure to end the school year on a high note!
While I reflect on my first year as principal, my mind is flooded with all of the amazing moments I was able to share with your children. From themed dress days to assemblies, school-wide celebrations to classroom visits, and all of the day-to-day interactions, this has been an outstanding year! Now that I've encountered all the "firsts" of being a principal, I am looking forward to all of the possibilities that are upon us in the future.
I'd like to thank our fabulous Home and School Association Board for all of their support this school year. Not only have they provided financial aid for all of the projects I've proposed this school year, they have also spent countless hours planning and executing many outstanding experiences for our students. This group is truly one of a kind! If you haven't had a chance to come out to a meeting this year, I'd highly recommend joining us in the future.
I'm sure this is no surprise to you but our staff is beyond measure! Day after day, they have shown their dedication and enthusiasm in all that they do. I have loved learning from each of them and collaborating on so many initiatives. Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated achievements, and created a nurturing environment for our students. Their unwavering commitment to excellence and genuine care for our students have been truly inspiring.
I'd be remiss not to thank all of you, our families, for being so wonderfully supportive. I believe that in order for our children to be successful, we need to be partners in their educational journey. This community shows up for their children! We will be looking for new ways to engage our families this next school year. Please reach out with any ideas you have.
Finally, as you begin to settle into a summer routine, don't forget to check out the resources that were shared by Mrs. Argenziano, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. These resources for summer learning include engaging activities to keep your children from experiencing the "summer slide."
I hope you all have a wonderful summer making memories with your children.
See you in September,
Mrs. Jennifer Skomial
