Hello Powell Families,

Our teachers had an incredible week back at work! We have been making plans for the year and are excited to have students back on Wednesday!

Teacher announcement emails were sent this afternoon. If you did not receive an email from your child's teacher, please check your spam/junk folders and if you still do not see an email, email contactpowell@conroeisd.net and we will work to get that information to you on Monday before Meet the Teacher.

We hope you will join us on Monday, August 12 from 4:30-6:00 for Meet the Teacher. Teacher announcement emails will be sent out the afternoon of Friday, August 9. We encourage you to bring your child's school supplies that day and come meet your child's teacher! If you ordered school supplies through EPI in the Spring, they will be delivered to your child's classroom. This is a come and go event.

On the first day of school, we welcome parents to walk their child to class. We would ask that you do not linger for too long as that can create anxiety for some students. After the first day, parents will be asked to say their goodbyes at the doors and students who need support will be escorted to class by a staff member. We look forward to the first day on Wednesday!

ATTENTION- 3rd & 4th grade girls!

Join Girls on the Run by registering online for the Fall 2024 Season

Girls on the Run is a national program that promotes self-esteem and teaches girls healthy social and emotional behaviors while encouraging exercise.

Practice will begin the week of September 2, 2024.

(Powell Elementary: Mondays & Wednesdays, 3:30-5:00)

The program concludes with the Girls on the Run 5K: November 23, 2024 at Rice University.

*Please go to the website and click on register to sign-up your child for Girls on the Run. Registration is open now and ends September 10th. Acceptance into the program is based on a lottery system. Financial assistance is available.
