School-based spinal screening helps to identify adolescents with abnormal spinal curves and refer them for appropriate follow-ups with their doctors. This certification is valid for 5 years.

In order to accommodate more attendees, this class will be held at ESC6 while our DSHS Instructor is remote.

This meeting is for all RN, Lead School Nurse and RNs in a Single Nurse District. Networking provides access to countless opportunities for nurses allowing for communication, interaction and collaboration with each other in order to enhance school nursing care practice and improve student wellbeing.

Collaborating and networking with other lead school nurses or nurses from single nurse districts will provide an opportunity to discuss emerging issues, topics of concern, problem-solve, and share expertise to strengthen our current day, evidence-based practice skills individually and collectively. We encourage nurses to bring a laptop or personal device to access resources.

In Texas, most licensed healthcare practitioners involved in direct patient care are required by law to complete training on human trafficking. This training must be completed at least once every license renewal cycle, as a condition of professional re-licensure.

*CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Louisiana State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

This class meets the Board of Nursing requirement of contact hours of Nursing Jurisprudence and Ethics: • Texas Nursing Practice Act • BON Rules & Regulations • Rule 217.11 Standards of Nursing Practice • BON Position Statements • Principles of Nursing Ethics • Professional Boundaries • NPA Section 301.305 Rule 216.3 (g)

All nurses must complete at least 2 contact hours of NCPD relating to nursing jurisprudence and nursing ethics before the end of every third two-year licensing period.

You will earn 2.5 contact hours of NCPD for this session.

As more and more schools are confiscating vape products, they need to be sure that they are disposing of them appropriately.
