Special Guest - Mayor Concannon to introduce January's trait - FAIRNESS
Thank you for taking the time to support Goodyear
Fairness is an important character trait for elementary students to develop. It involves treating others with respect, playing by the rules, and making sure everyone has an equal opportunity. When students practice fairness, they learn how to share, take turns, and resolve conflicts in a positive way. It's a key value that helps create a supportive and inclusive school environment!
Door Decorating Contest
Winner - Cronin's Class
Ms. Cronin's class won the Door Decorating Contest with their creative elf design! Their door was a vibrant display of holiday cheer, featuring colorful lights, a cheerful student elves, and sparkling snowflakes. The students worked together to bring the theme to life, capturing the magic and warmth of the season. Congratulations to Ms. Cronin’s class for creating such a bright and beautiful holiday masterpiece!

Goodyear was Electric!
Goodyear Elementary School recently received a generous $3,000 donation from the Woburn Fire Department, National Grid, and the Boston Bruins, aimed at promoting healthy eating, anti-bullying initiatives, and electricity safety. The donation will support various school programs that teach students about making healthy food choices, standing up against bullying, and staying safe around electricity. Through this partnership, the school community is excited to raise awareness and empower students with the knowledge they need to lead healthy, safe, and positive lives. The collaboration with such respected organizations is a wonderful reminder of how teamwork can make a difference. Thank you to Mayor Concannon and School Committee member, Mike Mulrenan, for attending this special collaborative event.

LION'S PRIDE ASSEMBLY
Today we had our assembly on Citizenship. Now, what does it mean to be a good citizen? Citizenship is not just about living in a country; it’s about being a responsible and caring member of your community and the world around you.
A good citizen is someone who helps others, follows the rules, and works to make the world a better place. Citizenship means that we think about how our actions affect others and try to make positive choices that help everyone. Whether it’s by recycling, helping a classmate, or simply showing respect to others, all these little actions add up to a big difference.
We ended our ceremony by welcoming Coach Belcher and the WMHS football players who graduated from Goodyear Elementary. Wow, they grow up so fast! They introduced our next character trait; HONESTY.

Dear Caregivers,
To support our students' health and focus, we kindly ask that only water containers be kept at desks during the school day. Water is the best option to stay hydrated and energized for learning.
Additionally, we request that sugary drinks (such as soda, juice, or energy drinks) be saved for recess, lunchtime or after school. The students can store them in their backpacks or cubby/locker.
Thank you for your support!

Veteran's Day Assembly
We gathered to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. These heroes have made great sacrifices to protect our freedom, and we celebrate them on this special day—Veterans Day.
As a school, our character trait is citizenship. Enlisting in the armed forces is one way we can give back to our country. Goodyear has focused on being socially responsible- civic responsibility, doing your part for the common good, making our democracy work by voicing your opinions, voting, and participating in the decision-making process, performing community service, helping to take care of the environment, obeying the laws. I want to thank our teachers for helping you recognize and participate in ways that reflect good citizenship. We thank our staff for giving back to our community and country with the important civic duty of supporting and raising good citizens like you!
