All Senior Cap and Gown orders are due by Friday November 18th!

Graduating Seniors must complete a Cap & Gown order to participate in our Commencement Ceremony. Students will need to order the cap, gown, and tassel. Please make sure to indicate the correct height and weight so that you receive the correct size for the gown. If you need financial assistance, please contact the Saucon Valley High School Office.

Mrs. Alderfer, Ms. Suriel, Ms. Fisher and Mr. Shirk completed the junior class field trips to Northampton Community College last week. Students learned about the many academic programs and majors available.

The following colleges are visiting Saucon Valley High School. College representative visits are a great way to learn more about colleges you are interested in and are also an excellent tool to connect with admissions offices of colleges you are applying to. The application process for the Spring 2023 semester of Lehigh University's High School Scholars program is now open. Please see the guidance office for more information.

Any high school senior is welcome to apply. As in previous years, the selection committee will identify up to 3 students per high school to participate in the program. The selected students will be able to enroll in one class at Lehigh in the fall with tuition cost covered by the High School Scholars program. Students will be responsible for any course materials, course fees, etc.The course request process will take place in late December/early January. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, December 7th by 5pm.

Mr. Focht's Honors Environmental Science students completed a lab at the Environmental Center. They performed chemical analyses on Polk Valley Run to try to detect if any chemical pollutants were present that may make the stream conducive for the development of harmful algae blooms.

Thomas King, a freshman, performed Taps for the Hellertown American Legion Veteran's Day ceremony.

This was his 10th ceremony doing so as the son of a Legion member, Jim King USMC. Thomas learned to play Taps in the 4th grade under the tutelage of Herb Payung and a private instructor to ensure a recording is never used.

We are very proud of his dedication and commitment to honoring Veterans and Service Members for Veteran's Day and Memorial Day.

Emily Kozero has been selected to sing the National Anthem at Northampton County Courthouse on November 15th as part of the Naturalization Court Ceremony. The performance is at 1:30 PM.

Student Government Association members will be participating in Alumni Day on November 17 by assisting with the Alumni Day program and presentation. We are excited to welcome the Saucon Valley Alumni Association!

SGA members will also be helping families providing them with a Thanksgiving Day meal.

The Keystone Exams are end-of-course assessments designed to assess proficiency in the subject areas of Algebra, Literature, and Biology. The Keystone Exams are one component of Pennsylvania's statewide high school graduation requirements.

The Winter Keystone Exams at Saucon Valley High School are for students that scored near proficient last year. Students and their guardians will be receiving a letter and email if they are scheduled to test. Our testing dates will be:

Algebra December 5th - 6th

Literature December 7th - 8th

Biology December 9th - 12th

Parents and guardians are invited to attend a voluntary high school input session. All meetings will be held in the high school auditorium. This is an opportunity to meet with Principal Pawlowski and share ideas.

In addition to charitable projects, National Honor Society is counted upon for their Learning Center. The NHS Learning Center provides NHS peer tutors for those students in need of assistance in specific subject areas. This year's Director of the NHS Learning Center is Senior, Edison Wu.

Saucon Valley Girls Lacrosse is selling pies! Proceeds from the sale benefit the team.

Available varieties are pumpkin custard, apple crumb and blueberry crumb pie. All of the 9” inch pies are homemade and $18 each.Orders are due Saturday, Nov. 12 for pickup at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23 at Saucon Valley High School. To place an order, email Jane Hoff at Janehoff0901@gmail.com.

The sophomore class is holding a See's Candies fundraiser from October 24th through November 29th. They are currently raising funds for a down payment for the 2024 prom. All orders will be shipped directly to the customer. All holiday themed products will ship on/after November 11th. Please share with family and friends.

Safe2Say is a youth violence prevention program. The program teaches youth how to recognize warning signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late.

The Colonial IU20 will be presenting a series of parent workshops throughout the school year. These workshops will be the 3rd Tuesday of every month, starting on September 20th at 6-7PM on Zoom. Register to take part in the Zoom Workshops.
