Hello Ivy Families,
We've had a great first full week here at Ivy Hill! The students are learning so many new things...buying lunch, riding the bus and getting from their classrooms to other parts of the school building! It's wonderful to see so much enthusiasm!
The newsletter has LOTS of important news and dates so please read through and if you have any questions, give us a call!
Stay safe, stay kind and stay courageous!

Fun Fluency Registration!
It's not too late to register for the District's elementary world language option, Fun Fluency, for the 2022-2023 school year.
Fun Fluency will offer before or after-school instruction in Spanish and French for all elementary students who sign up. The fee for the year is $295 for one day-a-week instruction throughout 25 weeks.
For more information and to register for Fun Fluency, visit their website (www.funfluency.com) and check out your school's flyer below:
Feel free to reach out to the District's World Language Coordinator, Andrea Luessow (aluessow@sd25.org), with any questions.
MY BELONGINGS!
Please send a change of clothes along with underwear and socks in a plastic bag to your child's teacher. We do not have a lot of space to keep extras in our nurse's office and you just never know when kids will need a clean shirt or pair of socks!
Please mark all personal items with your child's name. Lunch boxes, water bottles, backpacks, coats, etc. This is for all grades!!
A WORD FROM OUR NURSE, MRS. HEIN

Asthma inhalers
All inhaler requests require a parent signature and a photocopy of the prescription label from the inhaler box placed on the Asthma Inhaler Permission Form. In addition, legislation directs school districts to request an Asthma Action Plan for all students with asthma.
Food Allergy Emergency Medication
All food allergy emergency medication requests (epinephrine and antihistamines) must be renewed each school year. Required forms include Illinois Food Allergy Emergency Action Plan, Lunch Table Preference Form, and the Annual Severe Allergy Survey.
Please provide medication as ordered by your physician (i.e. if provider orders liquid, provide liquid form) and please check expiration dates of medication. No expired medication will be accepted.

BREAKFAST & LUNCH QUESTIONS
Ivy Hill is lucky to have Mrs. Khan and Mrs. Moncada back this year to serve breakfast and lunch to all of our students!
Breakfast will be served at 8:45 each morning - the cost is $1.75. If your child rides the bus, have them come directly to the commons when they arrive at school.
Lunch schedules change each week - beginning on Monday, 8/29, we will be on Schedule B. Click here for the menu. The cost for lunch is $3.25.
The easiest way to pay for breakfast and lunch to set up an account at MyMealTime.com. Call the office for your child's student ID number. You can also send cash. Please put the cash in an envelope with your child's name on it.
Download the Choosi app to help manage your child's account.
We’d love to hear from you!
