Dear Brimhall Families,
One of my top duties as principal is to help foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for each child. It is often complicated, but one that is needed before deep learning can happen. A student will not maximize their learning if they do not know they belong.
This work is often challenged by factors outside of a school’s control, afterall public schools are a microcosm of the world around us. Those challenges can take the shape of housing or food insecurity, limited access to healthcare, economic hardships, and social media. Each of those areas (and more) can have a significant impact on students, families, and staff. We work to try and meet those needs the best we can with the resources available to us.
With all the uncertainty many in our communities are experiencing, what I can say in unshakeable steadfastness, is that Brimhall will always remain a school grounded in the hard work of education, equity, safety, and inclusion. Not just for some students, but all students.
I will end with a message to each of our beautifully diverse communities, especially to our LGBTQ+ and immigrant learners, staff, families, and friends…
We see you.
We hear you.
We value you.
We love you here at Brimhall.
