In every classroom, through every partnership, and in every effort, your dedication shines brightly. It is through your hard work, passion, and collaborative spirit that La Porte ISD continues to be a place of inspiration and growth.

Superintendent Shout-outs
- Bravo to the Lomax Elementary School Fifth Grade Honor Choir and director Eileen Guinon for your wonderful performance at the November Board of Trustees meeting.
- Congratulations to our 2023 AP Scholars, who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement. We are all very proud of you!
- Eight Lady Dawgs made the All-District Volleyball Team; nine were named as Academic All-District. Way to go!
- Thank you and congratulations to the La Porte ISD Business Office. The state recognized them for the twenty-first consecutive year for superior financial management and reporting.
- Finally, the La Porte Education Foundation this week awarded 129 grants to teachers and administrators in La Porte ISD totaling $132,163.49 to fund innovative classroom projects. Please join me in thanking the Foundation volunteers and donors who make these grants a reality.

Making the grade: Niche rates La Porte ISD as an "A-" district
La Porte ISD earns an "A" for fiscal accountability
La Porte Independent School District has received its twenty-first consecutive “A” rating for “Superior Achievement” under Texas’ School FIRST financial accountability rating system. The rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of La Porte ISD’s financial management and reporting system. Read more about the FIRST ratings here.
La Porte Education Foundation awards more than $132K in classroom grants
The La Porte Education Foundation awarded 129 grants to teachers and administrators in La Porte ISD on November 16 totaling $132,163.49 to fund innovative classroom projects. This marked 30th time that the La Porte Education Foundation has awarded grants to educators in La Porte ISD. The founding members of the La Porte Education Foundation awarded the first round of grants in 1993. Since that time, the Foundation has awarded more than $2.7 million dollars in grants and special projects to more than 2,000 educators and staff. Get more details here.

La Porte High School volleyball players named to All-District teams
Eight La Porte High School volleyball players capped the 2023 season with All-District honors, including three players who were named to 18-5A’s First Team. Nine players were additionally named Academic All-District.
Kera Arrington, Sophie Sandel and Bailey Upshaw garnered First Team recognition; Kynlee Arechiga and Camila Vela grabbed spots on 18-5A's Second Team.
Honorable mention honors went to Angelina Goynes, Natalie Munoz and MaKenzie Traylor. The Lady Dawgs’ head coach is Miranda Thornton.
