Reflections from Pastor Jennifer
You prepare a table before me... my cup overflows. Your goodness and mercy follow me. Our God is a provider. He is a God of more than enough. So when we hunger and thirst after His righteousness, there is no doubt that we will be filled. Be assured, you were made for more. You were made for more that saved and satisfied, waiting on Jesus to come back. There is joy in serving Jesus. There is contentment in healthy personal relationships. There is peace at the end of the day when we work as if we were Christ's representatives at our job. There is growth in saying "yes" to a new ministry opportunity. There is blessedness in asking the Holy Spirit to have His way - realizing that your life is not your own. I dare you to imagine what would happen if you gave the Lord complete control. Taste and see that all He has for you is good!
May Focus: Study
CCOG is on the YouVersion Bible App! Download the app on your phone. Then, you can find us two ways: 1. use this QR code (open your camera app, focus the camera on the code, then click the link that pops up), or 2. open the YouVersion Bible App, in the search bar type Cornelius Church of God, click "churches", and choose CCOG. Set CCOG as your church (some people have needed to click the three dots at the top right of our page in order to set their church). For the month of May, we have an assigned daily devotion that we can all do together!

April showers bring rainbows! You are asked to bring crayons, coloring books, colored pencils, markers, or any other rainbow colored item in the month of May. Remember to give generously - our goal is 53 or more boxes, so plenty of items are needed each month. Shoeboxes and/or shipping costs are also very helpful.

HoCo 2024
Sunday, June 2 is CCOG Homecoming. This is always a great day, and this year will be no different. Begin now to invite friends and family. Whichever lady and gentleman who brings the most guests between now and Homecoming Sunday will be crowned the Homecoming Queen and King! Use that as incentive as you invite your guests.
May I Have Your Attention, Please?
There’s hearing, and then there’s listening.
Hearing is the ability to perceive sounds or information.
Listening is paying attention to them.
Today’s Scripture readings in Jeremiah are tragically sad, but sadly not uncommon. These Old Testament accounts are huge red flags warning us of danger ahead when we don’t give God our full attention with all our heart, mind, and strength. Why? Well, if we aren’t paying attention to God and His ways, we’re headed in the wrong direction—going backward and not forward. Too often, these wrong paths take us to dark and destructive places.
The culprit of distraction is usually some innocently attractive lure such as a full schedule, raising kids, a quest for more of something, or even an electronic gadget with a host of fun surprises!
To my knowledge, my six children all have perfect hearing, but too often their listening can be passive! Sometimes the only thing that will grab their attention is my secret code word: ice cream. Instantly they're hooked and reply, “Wow! Really, Mom?” I then confess, “No, I just needed your attention!”
Honestly, I can be a passive listener, too, like when the smart phone has my concentration over my family. “Mmhmm … what’s that again, honey?”
We may laugh at these typical faux pas, but this is really not okay. It’s dishonoring to people. And when it comes to ignoring God, it’s tragically undervaluing Him and downright rebellious.
If we’re going to fully follow our heavenly Father, we’re going to need to pay attention to His messages! Remember, His divine communication comes in a variety of formats: His Word, a fellow believer’s counsel, a Bible Plan, a dream or vision, a whisper, or a nudging thought. Yes, the mode of God’s communication is vast because He’s a BIG God and a communication expert desiring to continually connect with you!
Ask the Father: What is distracting me from paying attention to You?
